At Long Last (OC x Natasha Romanoff)

Chapter 34

A/N: Thank you everyone for the support with this story. I know it's been a while since I updated again. Hoping to get back to updating each week or at least every other week. This chapter will have a large time skip. It will put us closer to the Winter Soldier timeline.  

Time Skip

Alex POV

It's been almost a year since Nat and Clint had brought me to the farm. I had grown close to the kids. They now call me Aunty Alex, which I love. Nat and I are still taking our relationship at her pace. There have been a few moments were things got heated between us, but we always stopped before it could go further. In our time here I have grown stronger than ever. I feel like a whole different wolf. One that would truly make my parents proud. Nat and Clint have tested all my strengths starting after our first hunt. Clint had called in to SHIELD to get some equipment for the test, which I wasn't a fan of at first, in fact it gave me a lot of flashbacks to that hell hole. Natasha was there the whole time to calm me down though.

The first test they had me do was testing my speed. The took me out to the open field and had me run back and forth while Nat pointed this bulky gun at me. Each time I ran across Clint would get really excited. What that was all about, I still have no idea, but after the fifth time running across Nat had called me over and had me shift into my human form. Once changed into clothes, she asked if I knew how fast I could run. I knew I was faster than an average wolf but had no idea how fast I actually was. Turns out, my top speed topped out at 55mph. Not sure why I'm so surprised after all the test Hydra put me through, but I never thought I was that fast.

The second test was to see how hard I could bite. Once Natasha told me what I needed to do, I shifted and took off towards the woods.

The guards dragged me to the arena and chained me to the ground. I was able to walk around but there was no chance I could run off. I had to time this just right.

Artemis: "Now is our chance Alex. We are only going to have one shot at this"

Alex: "If they take the chain off for the test I want you to take over. I think we will have a better chance of getting out of here in you're in full control." I replied. She agreed with the plan, now we just had to time this right. I watched as the guard that delivered most of me beatings put on a suit. "Can you just make sure to kill that fucker? I hate him as much as that damned doctor."

Artemis: "I'll just make sure to make this bite count. Not sure if it will kill him, but it's not going to be a light nip in the hand either."

"Are you ready to start?" the doctor from hell asked.

"Yes Sir" the guard responded.

"Wolf..." I looked the doctor in the eye, waiting for the command that I knew was coming. He pulled out a screen and glanced down at it. Assuming to make sure it was set up properly. "Attack" At the command, I gave control to Artemis.

"Alex!!!.... Alex!!!!"

Clint: "where the hell did she go?"

Nat: "I don't know, but she has to be around here somewhere."

It was Nat's voice that brought me out of my flashback of that day. I let out some small whimpers at the thought of what they did to me.

Nat: "Did you hear that?"

Clint: "She's close. Alex!! Come on Alex. We can be done for the day. If you come out, I'll make you a treat."

Nat: "You do know she's not a pet, right? Thought we cleared that up last year."

Clint: "Yeah but she likes my treats."

I whimpered again and stepped out of my hiding spot.

Nat: "That's it baby. Let's go home."

My whole body froze. I went from the shock of the flashback to the shock of Nat calling me Baby. I'm not even sure that she realized that she called me it."

Artemis: "Mate called us Baby!! Mate called us Baby!! Mate called us Baby!!" She pranced around in my head chanting like a lunatic.

Clint: "Baby?"

Natasha and I ignored him. I slowly approached Natasha.

Nat: "That's right. Come here Alex. Let's go home.

Alex: "Baby?"

Natasha: "Yeah, we are going to have to talk about that but let's go home. We can talk about everything and maybe try again tomorrow." I went to Nat and rubbed up against her. I crouched down and waited for her to get on my back. Clint tried to get on too, but Nat kicked him off. "Nope, my mate. So only I get to ride her."

Clint smirked up ant Nat and before he even had a chance to open his mouth to make a smartass comment, Nat pulled out her gun and gave him a warning shot just over his shoulder. Clint quickly raised his hands in surrender.

Nat: "What's wrong Birdbrain?" Clint huffed and started walking back, just grumbling about neglect and abuse.

Once back at the house I walked back to my old stall with Natasha, Clint didn't follow, instead gave us our space. Once I shifted and changed, I sat down against the back wall of the stall. Natasha came and sat next to me. I took a deep breath and told her how I escaped from Hydra. How they set up the test and how I used it to escape.

Nat: "I get it. We don't have to do the test. It would help us a lot, but we don't need to do it. I'm not going to make you do something you don't want to do.

Alex: "Why do you need to run these tests?"

Nat: "The people Clint and I work for help save people and keep the world safe. Our director, the man with the eyepatch, asked us to do it. I think he is hoping you will join the team."

Alex: "What team? With the other people from before?"

Nat: "Possibly, but I'm not completely sure. I would like you to join the Avengers, but that's not up to us."

???: "Last I checked spies don't just spill all the secrets of the people they work for Agent Romanoff." We looked up and there stood the man with the eyepatch. I let out a deep growl. "However, you're a little off on my plans."
