It was already evening when [Y/N] and Tanjiro left Mount Fuyikasaneyama. They were walking much slower than average, as they were extremely tired, and Tanjiro's ankle was slightly injured, which allowed only the boy to walk at a significantly slower pace.

Tanjiro's head was still bandaged, with only dried blood on it now. They should have changed it, but they were too tired. They both also had bags on their shoulders which served as additional weight even if they really weren't heavy as they only had their new uniforms in them. Tanjiro also carried a large board with him to help him walk. He refused to accept [Y/N]'s help as he thought she was already doing enough and was just as, if not more, tired.

But no matter how hard he tried to stay strong, after a few moments his leg gave out and he collapsed. Fortunately, the girl caught him in time and held his exhausted form close. She was tired too. She was extremely tired. But she couldn't afford to rest until they reached Urokodaki's house. It was much safer than waiting for dark.

She raised her right hand to the boy's hair and started stroking it slowly. The act immediately calmed the exhausted figure and he greedily snuggled closer to her. He may have been tired, but he was still conscious of the love she gave him. And he wanted to enjoy every moment, preferably awake.

"Come on, Tanjiro. We must continue." she muttered as Tanjiro let out a tired sigh. He knew that, but the progress was exhausting. It caused him so much pain. "I know..." he whispered as he let her help him up. The board fell from his hand and instead [Y/N]'s hand came to his side and held him tightly. Tanjiro couldn't resist leaning into her side and hearing another sigh.

They slowly began to move forward. It would probably be night by the time they reached Urokodaki, but getting there safely was the most important thing, regardless of their speed.

It was dark when they arrived. Light could be seen from the house, so they believed that Urokodaki was still awake. Tanjiro tiredly leaned back into [Y/N]'s form, who continued to hold him tight.

"We're finally home..." he mumbled almost in a dream as he searched for more warmth. [Y/N] could only nod as she let the boy put his full weight on her.

However, moments later, the door was cut open with a loud crash and fell to the ground. Tanjiro immediately woke up from his half-sleep and he and [Y/N] watched with wide eyes as Nezuko walked out of the house in her best state. She slowly turned towards them and examined them.
