A day had passed since [Y/N] had woken up from her month-long coma. A day had passed since she had to face the terrible truth of losing someone important to her again. In the course of a day, she had gone through so many emotions that she had never thought possible after waking up from a coma. From ignorance to happiness to realization and pain.

It was the next morning when she woke up again. After she had held that tiny figure in her hands, almost everything after that was a blur. She couldn't remember what had happened. The last thing she knew was that she was desperately clutching it, her tears falling, her body shaking. What happened after that was a blur. She could only assume that she had fallen asleep again from the overwhelming emotions and exhaustion. She also realized that someone had been in the room, presumably one of the butterfly girls, since Rui's box was next to her bed again, but this time closer than yesterday.

She stared at the ceiling, almost lost. In her right hand was still the small plush, which she probably hadn't let go of once since she discovered it. She held it tightly, not wanting to let go. It was the only thing left of Rui and the only memory that existed not only in her mind, but was also tangible.

She felt empty inside. As if everything she had ever felt inside her had disappeared. She knew it wasn't true, she knew that those things were still there, but she simply couldn't feel them at that moment. Silent grief and happy but heartbreaking memories completely consumed her thoughts. She couldn't think of anything else. Her situation wasn't helped by the fact that she vaguely remembered Kanao coming to her room earlier that morning and telling her that Tanjiro and Inosuke were still in a coma. Although that memory was extremely vague. She was probably asleep at the time, but she was aware that she had visited her. Maybe she was the one who had put Rui's box next to her bed.

However, Zenitsu woke up the next day and soon set off on a mission from which he had not yet returned. That was the last thing she could remember, after struggling to recall any memories from that early morning.

Zenitsu was awake and on a mission. It was a relief. She was happy that he was alive, that he was okay and able to go on more missions. But she was sad that he couldn't be there. She missed him and wanted to be with him. Then she felt an incredibly strong desire to hear the boy's desperate and scared voices again.

She was happy that Zenitsu was alive and thriving. She really was. But the fact of Rui's death, the fact that her other two friends were still in comas, was too strong. That fleeting happiness was easily consumed and her mind was filled only with painful thoughts and worries. She wanted to see them, she wanted to visit them, but she was aware of the depressing fact that she was unable to. Her body was weak, even the shortest walk would probably harm her system and physical well-being. But physical and bodily pain was nothing compared to the mental pain. External wounds heal, pain fades with time. But inside? That was a different and foreign question.
