The snow was slowly falling from the sky, the familiar, usual view of the mountain was now, as always, a wonderful sight to anyone who wandered there. The trees were covered in the simple, yet enchanting white color of the snow, almost wrapping a warm blanket over their thick foliage. But the snow was cold, so this could be deceiving, but it was a fact that it gave a truly unique charm to every curious eye.

Most of the animals could not be seen. All you could hear were the chirping or croaking of the birds that wandered by. Sometimes maybe boars would come out, but they were calm even compared to their manners. Sometimes they appeared alone, sometimes in small families.

However, that familiar place was not filled with the soft or loud sounds of animals. Happy laughter, cheerfulness, joy were what flowed in the air then. Although the snow was falling softly, the sky was still cloudy, slightly gray, which was a great contrast to the cheerful laughter.

It was the giggles of young children that filled the air so easily and gave the slightly gloomy landscape a deeper, kinder image.

The giggles came from near a house, more precisely from the garden of a house where three younger and one older child were laughing. In their company were two adults who just stood in the doorway watching the children happily laugh and play with each other. Although the younger ones begged them to join them, they refused, as they had other things to do at home. But they finished quickly, so all that was left was to watch the beautiful sight of their beloved children playing together, almost carefree, as if happiness were the only thing that existed in the world.

"Onee-chan! This is not fair!" shouted Yuta, who was sulking slightly when a snowball hit his shoulder.

"You are just plain lame at this game!" said Hana. "Onee-chan is just better." she added.

"I am not lame!" Yuta defended himself slightly offended, only to receive a playful but mocking expression from his older sister, mixed with sticking her tongue out at him.

A little further away, [Y/N] chuckled softly at her younger siblings' playful mockery. In fact, this was common. The snowball fight started out as the best idea in the world every time, but it easily turned into a sulk if one of them fell slightly behind the others in the battle. At such times, frivolous insults took over, which could only be stopped if a new opportunity arose, which was almost always building a snowman.

[Y/N] just watched as Hana began to sulk as well, as Yuta felt too insulted, so he felt an unwavering desire to return the same insults to her.

But a soft but firm tug on her clothes pulled her out of watching them. She glanced curiously to where she was greeted by familiar black hair and curious blue eyes.
