There was a distinctly different vibe around [Y/N] these past few days. The letter from Kagaya and Gyomei's visit had brought about something she had never really thought about. If she was honest with herself, she had never wanted to think about it. It was undoubtedly a commendable position to be a Hashira, and most demon slayers probably trained hard to achieve this position themselves. They probably even aspired to it. But she had never been able to think about it.
When she decided to undergo Urokodaki's training and then join the Demon Slayer Corps, she had done so for two reasons. To turn Nezuko back into a human and to finish off Kibutsuji Muzan. Of course, protecting the people was also an important consideration. After all, a demon slayer always joined the Corps for a reason. Everyone had a reason.
Being a Hashira was a new distinction. Something she couldn't take lightly. The other demon slayers looked up to her and placed their trust in her. Still, if this was another step towards achieving her goal, she was willing to act on it. As a Hashira who not only pursued her own goal, but also protected others.
It had only been two days. She was finally able to leave the bed completely. She felt much more energetic than she had a few days ago. She wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because the whole Hashira thing, but she dismissed that idea. She didn't think too much about it, though.
Mitsuri and Muichiro had left the estate a few days ago. They both had to go about their business, even though they were still advised to rest.
Tanjiro and Genya had woken up last night. When she heard the news, happiness had coursed through her body. Maybe that was the factor that made her feel so energetic. Finally, all her friends were well and awake again. That was enough for her and she didn't need anything more.
She headed towards the two boys' room. She couldn't wait to visit them and spend time with them. She was also excitedly waiting for Haganezuka to arrive. One of the Kakushi, Goto to be exact, had told her in the past few days that the new swords would arrive soon. According to the preview, today was the day.
She walked towards the room excitedly, but her smile grew bigger in an instant when she saw Kanao just turning the corner. Apparently, her face too brightened up more when their eyes met. Her steps became faster and she tried to get closer to her as soon as possible.
Kanao had really changed a lot. She was much more honest and open about her emotions. She was finally not afraid to speak up and say what she thought. She spoke more often, which was both a surprise and a joy for most of the inhabitants of the estate.
"Kanao!" [Y/N] waved to her as they stood in front of each other moments later. Unfortunately, she hadn't seen the girl in the past few days. Kanao had been on a mission, so she hadn't really had a chance to communicate with her. But now she was here, so they could finally make up for lost time.
