It had been a few days since the training had officially begun. The Hashiras had been working hard to perfect their training, while the demon slayers had been struggling against the harshness of it all, trying to maintain their strength. They were very stressed, but there was still a lot of time left and they knew they would have to make it.
[Y/N] had just called a break for the demon slayers who were training with her. It was amusing to see how they thanked her almost gratefully and how kind of her to give them a break. It was true, most Hashiras probably only gave them a minute break at best. And then they had been made to work non-stop for several hours. Although it was cruel, it was also a fact that they would not have time to rest in a fight.
The girl was sitting on the engawa of the Butterfly Estate, she herself was trying to calm down from the constant movement. Although it wasn't as stressful for her as it was for the other demon slayers, it was also true that a moment of relief didn't hurt her either.
She enjoyed the peace of that time of day, her gaze lingering on the beauty of the garden. She watched the butterflies fly as they landed on the flowers or simply settled somewhere. A few brave creatures even flew close to her and either landed on the engawa or on top of her head. It was almost as if they recognized her and knew that they didn't have to be afraid of her.
However, from the sky above her, the croaking of her crow was heard as she circled high a few times, then slowly flew down to her. Not wanting to scare the butterflies away, she flew to her owner's side on the engawa, then nudged her head greedily against her thigh a few times.
The girl smiled. "Hello there. Did you bring anything?" she asked with a small smile as she stroked the top of her head, and the bird flapped her wings happily. It was a great happiness for her to finally be the only one who could enjoy her owner's love again. When Tanjiro's crow was around, she didn't get to do that often, as that crow kept stealing the love that should have been hers.
The bird flapped her wings a few more times, then moved a little to get a better look at the letter tied to her leg.
"Letter! Letter!" she cawed as she moved closer again and urged her owner to take it off her leg and read it.
"Who did it come from?" the girl wondered as she carefully removed the letter from the crow's leg, then after a few moments opened it and began to read its contents.
However, there was something surprising about the letter. There were two types of writing inside. The first half of the letter was clear who it was from. It was from Tanjiro. He asked her to come to his training session with Tengen. According to the letter, he missed her and wanted them to spend time together again.
