After Mitsuri left, the mood didn't change much, but it was noticeable that the powerful energy that the Hashira carried with her wherever she went was no longer felt at the same heights as before. The atmosphere was pleasant, creating a kind of calmness throughout the house.

Tanjiro, [Y/N], and Nezuko hadn't gone to their own rooms to sleep yet. They wanted to stay up, talk, and do whatever they could to take advantage of the rare moments of calm. True, most of the conversation was between the two demon slayers, as Nezuko just rolled around on the floor tiredly, but sometimes she perked up and eagerly waited for one of them to pat her on the head.

"It's a shame we couldn't find Genya in the end." [Y/N] said. "I was hoping we could finally have a normal conversation this time. Especially after he left the hot springs so suddenly. From his appearance and his attitude up until then, he seemed really rude, but then it turned out that maybe he had another side. Maybe he was hiding it with his rude attitude."

Tanjiro's mind stopped for a moment as the hot springs were mentioned. His thoughts immediately wandered back to that particular little incident that had happened between them. Unfortunately, it wasn't just that moment that was clearly burned into his mind, but every single little moment that could be connected to the girl then and there. He really thought that by the evening he would be able to react appropriately to this, maybe learn to deal with these thoughts, but he must have clearly disappointed himself. He was ashamed of himself for being unable to drive away all these thoughts.

Despite all the inappropriate thoughts, he managed to give a weak, almost trembling nod. He tried with every fiber of his being to focus on the current topic, without any unnecessary thoughts.

"You might be right." he said softly, his voice shaking slightly as he tried to act calm. "But it makes me wonder where he could be. He wasn't in his room and we couldn't find him anywhere else in the house."

"I have no idea. It's also surprising that he doesn't usually eat here." [Y/N] remarked, lost in thought for a moment. She tried to think of possible reasons for the boy's strange behavior, but she couldn't find any suitable answer or solution. They would probably only be able to answer this question if they got the answer from the boy himself.

"Whatever the answer is, we'll definitely find out one day. If he's in the village, we'll have to meet him again sooner or later." she finally said with a hopeful smile.

Tanjiro nodded, his own smile appearing on his face. "You're right. We'll definitely meet him again in the next few days. He can't hide forever."

[Y/N] chuckled softly at his words, then slowly stood up from her sitting position. "That's true. But we won't see him tonight anyway. Maybe in the morning. Maybe it would be better if we went to bed now. Tomorrow we can search for him and spend our day much more rested. Plus, we can explore the village better. Making swords takes time, so this gives us a lot of opportunities to explore."
