Carl
We were told we could all come back into the room. I walked in to see Grace with a shirt off lying on the table. I began to cover my eyes because she was passed out and obviously didn't know she was exposed.
"Carl we put bandages around her. That's why Hershel asked y'all to leave for a minute." Maggie told me.
I still felt a little uncomfortable, but I knew her life was in danger.
We all just sat and stood by in case of emergency while Hershel stitched Grace up with the assistance of Maggie.
Beth stood in the corner and held my baby sister.
"Please be ok." I whispered with my head down low.
I felt an unfamiliar hand on my back, I turned around and it was Daryl.
I thought he hated my guts.
"Listen kid, it may seem like I hate your guts." He started.
Ah there we go.
"But I just want what's best for Grace. She's very special, and brave. But I'm starting to realize she needs you just as much as you need her. Just don't do anything stupid with her. Or I'll be very very angry." Daryl continued, "and kid, I'm sorry about your mom. She was a good person, but you're gonna be okay without her. I know from personal experience," he said as he walked away.
"Hey y'all! I'm gonna go kill those motherfuckers!" Daryl screamed.
"Don't say those foul things!" Hershel shouted.
"I'm talking about the damn walkers." Daryl said snarkily as he left, but locked us in.
"Fu- I mean, come on! Not again Daryl!" I shouted.
He just held up rock and roll signs and stuck his tounge out and walked away.
I rolled my eyes.
I got hit with a sudden wave of sadness that was followed by extreme fatigue.
My whole world was changed. I just lost my mom. I might lose Grace!
No, no! Don't think that way. Hershel is great, he'll save her. Right?
He saved me and her before. That's how I know. I just got up and walked to my cell and lied in my bed. Then I fell asleep, for a long, long time.
I woke up in the dark, but I could tell morning was approaching. I was about to hop off, but as the bed is a little rickety it woke the person below me up.
Wait, person below me?! What the f-
"Jesus Carl, they've been saying you've been out for 4 days. Or at least the last thing I remember 2 days ago when I woke up it was four days. What the hell is going on?" I heard a groggy and raspy, yet familiar voice prod at me.
"Shit, Grace!" I laughed and smiled.
I hopped down and knelt down by the weakened girl. She just lied there completely still and flat on her back. Every breath she took in you could hear. As if it was leaking from her body before it filled her lungs.
"I've been sleeping most of every day. Or just laying here. Waiting for someone. You. But you were asleep and nobody would wake you. Why wouldn't they wake you?" The fragile girl asked, so confused.
Does she not know? Oh my god. She doesn't know.
"Where are we anyways? Why hasn't your mom come to check on me? Who are those two guys in weirdo jumpsuits. Why is there something crying? Did we find a baby before your mom had hers?" The questions continued ruthlessly as I felt each one ripple through my heart.
