madeline's pov

the next morning i wake up in caleb's bed. i want to roll back over and fall asleep but a knock on the door prevents me from doing just that.

a second later the door is open and charlie comes jumping in and standing all over me.
"good morning my love" caleb said kissing me on the forehead "mums making breakfast downstairs come on" he announced pulling me out of bed.

his mum doesn't let us sleep in the same room for obvious overprotective reasons but i think it's cute his mum cares. so every time i sleep over he lets me have his bed and he sleeps on the couch.

downstairs his whole family greets me. his brother sammy who's a freshmen. then his two little sisters. amelie in year 3 and claire in year 5.

a full breakfast of waffles, bacon, eggs and fruit is laid on the table. "you're a sweetheart mrs thomas" i thanked the woman, she laughed running a hand through my bed head. i was just lucky it wasn't so knotted.

"how many times have i told you to call me mary" she shakes her head and sips her coffee. only ever grabbing breakfast if she was sure the kids were done eating.

she was such a selfless woman.

sometimes i think of telling caleb, or even just his mum about my situation, and what's happening. but i don't want to bother them. i would just be proving my father right regardless.

after breakfast i go back to caleb's room for a shower. in the top left of his drawers i keep some of my clothes and i was lucky i did.

he was a senior which meant after this year he would move out it collage possible even move away while i was stuck her for another year. but i didn't want to think about that.

after my shower i say ill meet caleb at school as we took seperate cars.

i checked my emails in first period and found out i got a call back for the part of maya.
i quickly texted nola and found out she got a call back too.

because of this the day went by quickly again. and soon in second break i was back in the theatre.

there was significantly less kids this time around. maybe 15?

when my name was called i was surprised to see scarlett standing on the stage.

"well hello again" she smiled as she saw me.
"hello" i answered shyly.

"this round of audition is going to be the chemistry read as if there is no connection there is no point in furthering your application" the casting director said and i nodded nervous.

"don't worry, you'll do great" she smiled at me as we got ready for the scene.

after a few different ones the directors seemed happy.
"see, you're a natural" scarlett said as the director guy was coming back with a paper in his hand. he told me to open it once i got home and i nodded saying goodbye to them all.

i waited outside for nola and when she came out without a paper i was confused.

did she not get it. or did i not get it. is that why he told me to wait until i got home
"what's that?" she questioned suspicious.

"i don't know the director handed it to me and said to open it when i got home"
"okay we'll go on open it"
"what? i'm not home" she gave me a look and snatched it from my hands. "hey!"

she read it out loud and it was for another screen test. seemingly the last part of the audition process. tomorrow after school.

but if that's what that was that means nola didn't get one. "i'm sorry" i said when i saw her disappointed face.

"are you kidding me, you're gonna get this and then get to the top of the world. don't forget to take me with you when you get famous though" she said with a smile and i smiled back but it was forced.

she was jealous i could see it. and i felt bad but i also really did want this now.

it's out of my comfort zone and i needed that right now.

after school i got the collapsible box i kept in my boot out and shoved my pillow, blankets, clothes and any other belongings into it before driving to the car wash.

the only place i trusted with my car. handing it over for a deep clean i sit in the lobby trying to get the vending machine to give me a bag of chips.

"madeline" jim called me once it was done. i walked outside to see my car as shiny as ever. i thanked him putting my box back in the car and driving off.

taking a different park near alejandro's i park my car where it's more secluded and in a parking garage. 20 bucks a day isn't so bad, when i could be getting more than that in a ticket every day.

opening the box again i lay my blanket across the back putting my bags behind the front seats to make the bed longer. adjusting my pillow i got back to putting everything in its place and opening a new air freshener.

after setting up i lay in the back and tuck in for the night. which meant an hour on my phone or doing homework before i actually fell asleep.

doing my budget i was happy to realise in 2 more weeks i can afford my apartment. it's been on hold since last week so i had to have the money within the month or it would have sold already.

it really is the perfect apartment with floor to ceiling windows.
the location and condition is the reason it's cheep enough but i really don't have a problem with the stuff listed.

it's better than this car and that's for sure. i lock up said car doing all the seatbelt tricks before putting my airpods in to fall asleep.

because i knew if i heard a single sound i would wake up instantly
