madeline.holmes: no place like coast hill
madeline's pov i had all my cousins commenting on my post jealous that i had gone without them. it was a little photo dump of the trip and then the last photo was me and violet from last week when we were on set.
i stayed at violets for another day. showered using her stuff. slept in her clothes, in her bed. ate her food. it was great.
but i feel bad being in her space although she didn't care so i left to go home. i cleaned out my fridge and cupboard before writing a list for grocery shopping. my shopping bags were just a series of tote bags i had collected so i shoved them in my car.
i decided to go to the gym first as it had been a while and decided to do my own pilates workout and then half an hour on the stair master.
after a really good well needed workout i had a shower and did my hair again. being put together starts with looking put together.
i then headed downstairs to grab my coffee. "long time no see" laura commented making my order upon seeing me.
"yeah, it's been busy" i smiled. "tell me about it. sometimes i wish i went to uni so i wouldn't be here for the rest of my life" she said and i paid leaving her a tip.
i then headed to the grocery store but encountered my first round of paparazzi. i didn't really know what to do so i tried to ignore the grown men hiding behind cameras and taking photos of me.
it was fine when i got into the shop though. grocery shopping it's actually very relaxing. i love it.
"maddie!" i hear behind me and suddenly a kid colides with my legs. looking down i see the blond smiling up at me.
"hey rose!" i picked her up looking for her mum. scarlett was literally right behind me so i jumped when i spun around.
"hey" she said giving me a side hug. "hi scar" i smiled glad to see her again. "did you see the paparazzi outside?" i asked incase they were still there and i had to warn her.
"no? why? were they there when you came in" "yeah, it was the first time i've seen them" we did our grocery shopping side by side talking. rose was holding onto both our trollys aslo talking about her school friends.
"woah you eat a lot of vegetables" she said pointing at my cart. "yeah, almost every meal" i said. looking at it all.
i grabbed some of the no sugar passion fruit drinks i had been obsessed with recently. "can i invite you over for dinner tonight?" i asked scarlett wanting to repay her for everything she's done to me.
"i'd never say no to that" the blond said and i smiled. "does rose eat spaghetti bolognese?"
"does she" scarlett laughed "she would eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner if she could" i smiled and bought stuff for our dinner plans now.
"oh i remember you saying, you had a friend and her daughter staying over right now. they can come if you would like"
"that's perfect, you'll love them"
we said our goodbyes once we got to the end and i hopped into my car
when i got home i put everything away, refilling all my jars and everything before tidying the rest of my home. i played my amy winehouse vinyl. as i cleaned.
just after at 5pm i started cooking and by 550 it was almost ready. perfect timing too as there was a knock at the door.
the group of 4 walked in and i saw a teenager around my height walk in behind elizabeth olsen. "hi it's nice to meet you" i extended my hand out to the girl. she smiled and i started to serve up dinner.
scarlett offered to help me as the others got comfortable. "so do you live all by yourself?" the teen asked
"yeah, i moved out a couple months ago" i said passing her a plate. she nodded again thanking me and went to sit down.
i only had 4 chairs at my dining table so i grabbed my desk chair from my room for me to sit on.
"at 16? that's early" i hear elizabeth say quietly. it was probably ment for scarlett to hear and not me. regardless i didn't say anything and we all ate.
turns out elizabeth's daughter also acts which i found pretty cool. i also found out she had a girlfriend and her name was dahlia, she was from australia.
"that's so cool, i love it there" i commented. thinking about the times i had been to sydney. sure that's only one part of the country but it was good anyway.
dinner went smoothly we were all just getting to know each other and relaxing. soon we moved to the couch and rose had managed to spill pasta sauce all over her clothes so i grabbed her some out of my wardrobe.
most of my clothes probably weren't appropriate for a child so i just gave her one of my plain tshirts.
elizabeth insisted to wash up since i made dinner and i said she didn't have to but didn't really complain.
and so her daughter, rose and i all sat on my couch for a movie. "so how'd you even move out at our age? i didn't think that was legal" she seemed to notice me getting uncomfortable and apologised. "sorry, i come from a bad home life, and if i had known it was an option i would have gotten out of there a lot quicker"
she ended up telling me a bit more about herself and i ended up getting more comfortable around her. she was 2 years older than me and about to turn 18.
"yeah, like the story got into the news and everything a few years back and now they want to make a movie about my life which is crazy but atleast it will boost some visibility for other people in my situation, that's the only reason i've started to get more comfortable talking about what happened because i want people to know they aren't alone like how i felt. before i met the marvel cast and now my mother that is" she said. i seriously looked up to her now.
she seemed to have grown up so much and definitely didn't sound like an almost adult. she had so much clarity and was so sure of herself i couldn't help but admire it.
"well it was nice meeting you" i said still in awe when they had to leave. "yeah, hopefully we will see eachother again!" they lived in LA so i don't know when. that would happen but id love too.
i hugged rose and scarlett goodbye and scarlett told me to go to bed since it was already 11pm. rose had fallen asleep on the couch a few hours ago so i had to move her to my bed.
she was not happy about having to walk to the car now.
but in the end i said goodbye to them all and settled back into my apartment. i locked all the doors and windows, double checking them twice before heading for bed.
