hoes. jokes i love them. checking the group calendar to see if anyone else wasn't working i see the only people not working too live far away.

i want to call violet but she probably can't get away from her psycho whore. so instead i decide to have a day by my self and enjoy my own company for once.

i get up grabbing a bikini set to get changed and then start packing everything i need.

book, speaker, towel, stuff like that.  and i'm ready by 9:30.
it was a bit of a drive to a decent beach so i got in my car instantly turning the aircon on. a playlist of sticky fingers and ocean alley filled my car as i wished i was on the australian east coast right now.

when i got to the beach i parked and easily found a spot with enough shade and sun. i place everything down and quickly head for the ocean.

perfectly cold and clear as ever. i knew the drive was worth it.
when i got out i laid in the sun to dry off before putting tanning oil on. i wasn't allowed to tan too much as all makeup tests have been done but ill have my sun moment while i can.

after i don't know how long a frisbee hits me in the face getting sand all over my mouth.
i sit up annoyed thinking its just some boys but i see a family and a dad rushing to me.

"COLIN!" i hear the woman shout. the man, colin was laughing, the sun was blinding me due to my eyes being closed so i couldn't really make out what he looked like while handing the frisbee back.

"i am so so sorry about that" he said standing awkwardly.

"it's okay" i said dusting the sand off feeling it grit in my teeth.

"are you okay?" i then hear the woman ask as she had come over. my vision cleared and i saw scarlett.

"oh hi scarlett" i smiled at her and i could see her husband tense up obviously thinking this is a fan moment.

"madeline! oh my god colin how dare you hit her" scarlett then hit her husband gently with the frisbee.

"i said sorry!" he defended. i laughed it off saying it's fine.

"are you here alone?" she asked and i nodded.

"my friends were busy so i decided to have a day for myself" i said using my hands to block the sun.

"okay, well don't go getting burnt, have you re applied sunscreen? how long have you been sun baking, do you have water with you" she really is a woman of many questions.

"scarlett thank you, i'm okay" i smiled at her and she rolled her eyes at me.

"put more on now, im keeping an eye on you" she then declared getting back to her adorably inpatient daughter.

i sighed putting it on my face. skipping the rest of my body though.
after a few more flips i decided to go back into the ocean.

i was just in the waves its awkward by yourself so i didn't intend to stay long. but i saw scarlett's daughter slipping away and running to the ocean.

i kept an eye on her. she exitedly goes out until i know she can't reach.
the second i see her struggle the littlest bit i head over.

another wave takes her out and i swim faster. by the second wave she was panicking i could see. so i grabbed her in my arms and she gripped me tightly.

she knew i was "mummies work friend" so she wasn't opposed to being in my arms. i walked out of the ocean now seeing the couple panic and call out for rose.

when they locked eyes scarlett ran over. "what did i say about sneaking off! you could get lost or taken rose!" she said firmly but was careful not to yell at her daughter. something i wasn't used too.

i stared at the family dynamic for a second before colin spoke to me.

"did she bother you?"
"uh no, she got to the ocean and struggled in the waves so i had to grab her"

scarlett then hugged me. a tight warm hug i hadn't felt in a while. "thank you madz" she said firmly again. "seriously you saved her, i should have kept a better eye on her"

"it's not your fault, kids are unpredictable but learn new things regardless"
"yeah she should know better than to sneak off now"

"what happened to your foot?" i hear the child ask me less worried about what just happened.

i look down to where there was a large cut around my foot and under from where i had stepped on a shell and rolled my ankle while getting to her.

"oh it will be fine" i dismissed. "i'll see you at work scarlett, i'll let you guys be" i went back to my towel and checked my phone again.

messages from many people in many different apps. but i couldn't be bothered. "maddie maddie maddie" i hear rose running up to me again. she trips in the sand and falls on my stomach. "we got you icecream"

"sorry, i thought you would be with scarlett, do you want to come sit with us?" colin asked.

"i don't want to intrude" but rose was already pulling my hand. i grabbed my stuff and sat with the family.

rose was obsessed with asking me alot of questions. "mummy look, doesn't she look like my sister, we could totally be sisters, do you want to be my sister" i can tell she gets the questions from her mother.

"honey she does okay my daughter in the show were making" scarlett tried to explain. "so we have to look alike"

"so she's a superhero"
"sure baby" scarlett gave up with a laugh.

"maddie what are your parents like, are they superhero's?"

"um maybe more like magicians"
