madeline's pov
i didn't wake up in my own bed. but i woke up with a blond kid sprawled over the bed with me.
i picked rose up and walked downstairs. scarlett was there making breakfast. "morning scar" i yawned putting her kid down on the couch.
"morning madz, rose went to wake you up but i guess she decided against it" she laughed and i sat down rubbing my eyes.
"you didn't want to get up last night so i just brought you here" she explained and i nodded yawning again.
"i genuinely didn't question it" she had work today but i didn't so she was just gonna drop me at my house when she leaves.
rose had school to get ready for and requested me to do her hair. "are you sure you don't want your mum to, im seriously not that good" but she was insistent so i did my best.
it was just a braid down the back of her head but she loved it.
"so what's your plan for today" scarlett asked platting the breakfast.
"schoolwork probably" i lied. i was going to lay in my bed and think about my break up.
the 3 of us got in scarlett's car again and scarlett pulled up to the most perfect fancy primary school ive ever seen.
"have a good day at school sweetheart" she said but rose had already ran to her friends.
scarlett then drove me home and i thanked her several times.
like always she said to call her if i needed anything.
once in my apartment i went straight to my bed.
my phone disappeared in the blankets and i turned on brooklyn 99. it's so easy to forget about everything when im with people. but when im alone all i can do is feel.
like genuinely what is wrong with me that both my boyfriend and best friend backstab me. do they just think im stupid or and im that irrelevant as a person that they don't care.

mila came over with freshly baked croissants and we sat in my couch together. "so? what's up. we never gossip anymore cause you're never at school"
"i broke up with caleb" she started to say the oh i'm sorry what happened but i shrugged it off. "it's whatever" no it's not "how's school"
"it's pretty boring, ashley's pregnant, and i think she's keeping it" i pushed down the lump in my throat down and nodded.
after talking for a bit she handed me the sheets that we had to read through. i pulled a blanket over my legs.
she was gone by 2pm so i didn't know what to do with the rest of the day.
"violet" i said flatly once she picked up my call
"yes maddie" she said back in the same tone
"i was going to spend the day alone to wallow but then mila had for do something for school so you wanna....ummmmm...oh! wanna go bowling"
"really thought out plan huh?" she laughed. "yes i'll go bowling, then can we get dinner after"
"of course, i'm starving"
so now i was picking her up in 20 minutes which means i have to try and not look half dead.
we got ready while on facetime and i caught her watching me.
"what?" i smiled while putting on my mascara.
"it's just satisfying watching you do your makeup. i was a tomboy growing up so i never learned"
"yeah i can tell"
"wow" she shook her head.
"no! oh my god im so sorry" i laughed putting the mascara down. "i meant i could tell you were a tomboy growing up, who else knows 4 different breeds of garden toads"
"i like the outdoors" she rolled her eyes. she had been ready for atleast 15 minutes so she was just waiting on me.
"okay is this outfit good"
"madz you're literally a fashion student. your outfits are always good. but grab a jumper, you're always cold" i nodded grabbing one and setting it next to my phone so i wont forget it.
finding a clean pair of socks was pretty hard as i hadn't gone down to the laundromat in a while. probably should tonight.
once i found it i put my shoes on and grabbed a snack. grabbing the rest of my things i head back to my room grabbing my phone from the mirror
"okay im leaving now" i waved her goodbye and hung up.
"and a new song all the way from australia! you were mine by esha tewari" i turned the radio up and listened to the song.
when i got towards violets house the lyrics punched me in the gut. so when she got in the car and i was staring ahead she didn't question it.
the song finished and i finally said hi to her apologising. we drove to the bowling alley as she booked it on the way there.
"arcade aswell? it's only 15 dollars more for unlimited games"
"yeah use my card"
"haha no" she said laughed as if was all booked.
we got there and walked in. it was freezing. i knew i forgot something. anyway, i am not admitting defeat.
we headed to our alley and got our names put in.
