It was one of those rainy days in Kansas City where the clouds hung low and heavy, and the sound of raindrops against the window created a soothing rhythm. Inside, Travis Kelce was hard at work, seated at his desk for a Zoom meeting with his coaches and teammates. He wore a black T-shirt, a cap pulled low over his brow, and his focus was split between the discussion of game strategies and the lingering thoughts of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who was buzzing with excitement from her recent tour.
Taylor, on the other hand, was feeling a mix of emotions. She had just returned from a whirlwind leg of her tour and was exhausted. The energy of the crowd still echoed in her mind, but all she wanted was to curl up with Travis and bask in his warmth.
As she wandered into the office, she spotted Travis deep in conversation, his serious expression giving away nothing of the playful side she adored. He was animated, discussing tactics with his teammates. Taylor felt a sudden urge to interrupt that moment, to break through the seriousness and create a little chaos.
---
"Hey, Mr. Star Player," she chimed, trying to catch his attention.
He glanced at her and raised an eyebrow, a small smile breaking through his serious demeanor. "Hey, babe. Not now, okay?"
"But I want to be a koala!" she whined playfully, knowing exactly how to pull at his heartstrings.
"Not a good time for that," he replied, trying to keep his tone serious but failing miserably as a smirk crept onto his face.
Taylor pouted, her lower lip jutting out adorably. "I'll be super quiet, I promise. Just one little cuddle."
After a moment of internal conflict, Travis relented. "Okay, fine," he said, chuckling softly. "But if you're gonna be a koala, you have to be a quiet one."
With a grin, she climbed onto his lap, settling in as she wrapped her arms around him, her cheek resting against his chest. The warmth of his body enveloped her like a cozy blanket.
Travis adjusted his position in the chair, now trying to balance both his girlfriend and the meeting. Taylor snuggled closer, feeling content and secure as he resumed talking to his teammates.
---
As the meeting progressed, Travis occasionally cast a glance at Taylor, who was slowly drifting into sleep. Her eyelids fluttered, and her breathing became softer, a gentle rhythm that matched the patter of the rain outside.
Unbeknownst to his teammates, Travis was silently amused by the adorable sight. He could hear the teasing remarks from the guys on the screen. "Travis, are you really going to let your girlfriend fall asleep on you during a meeting?"
"Hey, you don't understand," he replied, grinning. "She's a certified koala. It's a full-time job to keep her from falling off."
"Make sure you keep her on a tight leash, man!" one of his teammates joked, and the others erupted in laughter.
Travis simply shook his head, his smile growing. "Yeah, well, she's got me wrapped around her finger."
Just as the meeting was wrapping up, Taylor shifted slightly and let out a soft sigh. Travis smiled down at her, brushing his fingers through her hair. "Wake up, sleepyhead. Meeting's over."
"Mmm, just five more minutes," she murmured, nuzzling closer to him.
"Alright, but if you don't wake up soon, I'll have to find a way to move you," he said teasingly.
---
Once the meeting ended, Travis carefully lifted Taylor and carried her into the living room, making sure she stayed comfortable in his arms. He set her down on the couch, tucking a blanket around her. "Koala mode activated," he said softly.
She blinked awake, momentarily disoriented. "What time is it?"
"Just past noon. You've got a little more time before we have to get ready for your concert rehearsal," he reminded her, ruffling her hair affectionately.
With a contented sigh, Taylor leaned into him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "What about you? Don't you have practice?"
"Later. I'm yours until then," he said, smiling down at her.
---
The rest of the day became a delightful blur of cuddles and laughter. Travis made lunch while Taylor flitted in and out of sleep, her head resting on his shoulder as he expertly cooked chicken and veggies.
"Are you seriously cooking with a koala on your back?" she teased, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Yep," he said, lifting her up playfully. "Every superstar chef has to have a koala assistant."
Taylor giggled, resting her chin on his shoulder as he stirred a pot. "I think I make a pretty good assistant."
"Absolutely. Best one I've ever had," he agreed, stealing a glance at her and kissing the top of her head.
---
After lunch, they settled onto the couch for a movie. Taylor curled up next to him, her head on his chest, one arm draped across his stomach. Travis pressed play, and soon the sounds of the movie filled the room, but Taylor found it hard to focus. The comfort of being with Travis was too overwhelming, and she dozed off once again, lulled by the soft sound of his heartbeat.
Hours slipped by, and Travis enjoyed every second of having Taylor so close. He couldn't help but smile, feeling lucky to have this little moment together, even amidst their busy lives.
---
When Taylor finally awoke, she stretched like a cat, yawning adorably. "What time is it?" she asked again, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Time to get ready for rehearsal. We need to leave in about thirty," Travis replied, brushing a kiss against her forehead.
"Do I have to?" she whined playfully, sitting up and giving him a pleading look. "Can't we just stay here forever?"
He chuckled, amused by her dramatic flair. "As tempting as that sounds, you've got a show to put on. And I wouldn't want to miss it."
"Fine," she conceded, her pout returning, but he could see the excitement in her eyes. "But only if you promise to come backstage afterward and help me unwind."
"I promise," he said, sealing it with a soft kiss.
As they got ready for the day, Travis couldn't help but steal glances at his koala girlfriend, feeling grateful for the moments they shared, even on days filled with work and rehearsals. She had a way of making the mundane feel special, and he loved her more for it.
Once they were ready, he took her hand and led her out the door, fully prepared to support her every step of the way, knowing that, no matter what, he would always be her tree.
