Taylor leaned back in her chair, the warm ambiance of the cat café surrounding her like a cozy blanket. Abigail sat across from her, sipping her lavender latte, eyes twinkling as she glanced over at the array of kittens playing in a corner. Taylor's attention was caught by a pair of tiny furballs wrestling near a scratching post—one, a sleek black kitten with bright green eyes, and the other, a fluffy white one with little gray patches. The café owner had mentioned they were siblings, a brother and sister.
"You see those two?" Taylor pointed at the kittens, her eyes lighting up. "They remind me of Monica and Ross from Friends."
Abigail chuckled, setting her mug down. "You're still on that Friends binge, huh?"
"Always," Taylor said with a grin. "I'm thinking... I'll adopt the girl. She's feisty, just like Monica."
Abigail smirked as Taylor stood up, walking over to the kittens and kneeling down to get a closer look. The little black kitten was indeed full of energy, pawing at her shoelaces with a fierce determination. Taylor laughed, reaching out and picking her up.
"Hey there, little Monica," Taylor cooed, rubbing the kitten's soft fur against her cheek. She turned back to Abigail. "She's coming home with me."
After signing the paperwork and paying the adoption fee, Taylor gently placed Monica in a cozy cat carrier. The kitten meowed softly, settling into her new home. As they walked out of the café, Taylor's heart felt full, but something nagged at the back of her mind.
Abigail glanced at Taylor with a mischievous grin. "You should've gotten the boy too, then you could've named him Ross."
Taylor stopped mid-step, her eyes widening in realization. "Oh my God, you're right."
Without a word, she turned on her heel, dragging Abigail back into the café, her determination clear. Abigail laughed as Taylor marched up to the counter and asked if the brother kitten was still available. A few minutes later, Taylor walked out with both Monica and her brother, who was now officially named Ross.
"Well," Taylor said as they reached the car, looking at the two kittens in the carrier. "I guess now I have Ross and Monica Geller."
Abigail grinned. "You really went for it, huh?"
Taylor nodded, buckling in the carrier and sliding into the driver's seat. "I couldn't leave Ross behind. They're a package deal, just like in the show."
When they got home, Taylor let the kittens out in the living room, watching as Ross and Monica explored their new surroundings. They were full of energy, batting at the toys scattered on the floor and climbing onto the couches. Taylor sat on the floor with Abigail, giggling as Monica tried to climb onto her lap while Ross pounced on her hair.
"I can't believe you did this," Abigail said, shaking her head in amusement. "Travis is going to flip when he sees these two."
"Oh, he'll love them," Taylor said confidently, scooping Monica into her arms. "Besides, who could say no to these faces?"
Abigail shot her a knowing look but didn't argue. They spent the next couple of hours playing with the kittens, completely engrossed in their antics. Eventually, Abigail said her goodbyes, leaving Taylor alone with her new furry friends.
It wasn't long before the front door opened, and Travis walked in, still sweaty from practice. He was in the middle of texting one of his teammates when he froze in the entryway, his eyes narrowing at the sight of two kittens zooming across the living room.
"Babe?" he called out, his voice suspicious. "What is this?"
Taylor popped her head out from the kitchen, smiling innocently. "Oh, hey! Meet Monica and Ross."
