"My father never approved of anyone I ever dated. Which only made me want them more, of course." Damon said with a smile as he cut up the tomatoes on the chopping board. "What about you?" He asked Jenna, who was sitting on the kitchen counter with a glass of wine.
"There were a few guys. Logan isn't the only loser I've dated." Jenna said
"They ever find him? Is he still missing?" Damon asked. I almost wanted to hit him for his words, and I probably would have if Aunt Jenna wasn't here.
"He's not missing. He's in the Bahamas working on his tan. Very entitled, that one. Marches to his own drum. He's a Fell. They're all snooty." Jenna replied
"Well, dating losers is something that runs in the family, right Jenna?" I added, trying to turn the conversation away from Logan.
"Yes, it definitely is." Jenna nodded. Damon shot me an inquisitive stare, wanting more Information on who I was talking about.
"Charles Montgomery. You met him at that founders party." I said, making his jaw clench and a look of understanding fall over his face.
"Wait, you saw him at the founders party?" Jenna asked, her eyes going wide as her newfound protective nature started to kick in.
"Yeah. He said he was taking a gap year and wanted to see some familiar faces. It was kinda creepy." I admitted, making her clench her jaw.
"Well, I hope you stay away from him. That guy was a complete dick." Jenna said firmly.
"What happened?" Damon asked. His jaw was clenched tightly, I could bet that if I gave him an address he would probably kill him. But that would be assuming that he cares enough.
"He cheated on me and...other stuff." I trailed off, looking away from Damon's intense gaze in case he managed to get more information out of me. I don't like to talk about what happened with Charles. It brings up unwanted feelings and memories.

"Do you want me to kill him?" Damon asked, he said it with a joking tone but I could tell that he meant it by the dangerous look in his eyes.
"As much as I would like that, it's not worth your time." I tried to placate him
"That's so sweet. I wish I had a guy who would kill for me." Jenna smirked into her wine as she hopped off the table, evidently trying to stir something. All she succeeded in doing was making that weird feeling rise in my chest again, a feeling that I couldn't afford to feel.
"Yeah, aren't you lucky." Damon said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and looked away from him. Luckily, Elena walked in at that moment, saving me from any more awkwardness.
"Hey, where have you been?" Jenna asked Elena as she looked at Damon in confusion.
"We're cooking dinner." Jenna added
"Stefan with you?" Damon asked
"Um, he'll be here soon." Elena said

Damon and I were setting the table as the food was almost ready. I grabbed a pile of plates and headed towards the dining table just as Damon was heading for the kitchen. He stepped in my way and bumped against me, it was obvious that it was on purpose. He hummed an apology as he stepped away.
"Don't do that." I chastised him as I walked over the table to put the plates down.
"Do what?" Damon asked, playing coy.
"That was deliberate." I stated.
"Well, yeah. I was deliberately trying to get to the sink." Damon deflected. I rolled my eyes at his dramatics.
