My hands were held tightly together on my lap as I stared at the woman who had kidnapped my sister just yesterday. Apparently she had shown up last night, claiming that we would need her help when the "originals" came for us. I sat beside Elena on the couch all while keeping a watchful eye on her. I don't exactly trust the woman.

"Okay, I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all of this vampire crap. But Klaus I know is real." Rose said as she paced back and forth in front of the fireplace.

"Who is he?" Elena asked

"He's one of the originals. He's a legend." Damon replied. He was perched on the arm of an armchair with a tense expression. He hadn't said much to me since I arrived, and it made me think that he still wasn't okay after yesterday.

"First generation of vampires." Stefan added

"Like Elijah." Elena said. Elijah, the man who had threatened to snap my neck if he didn't get my sister.

"No, Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal." Rose stated

"Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan added

"Okay, so you're saying...that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after me?" Elena said with a disbelieving tone

"Yes." Rose said

"No. I mean, if what she's saying is true-." Damon started to say

"Which it is." Rose interjected

"You're not saying this so we don't kill you?" Damon questioned

"I'm not." Rose stated

"Then we're looking at a solid maybe." Damon said with a shrug

"Elijah had Elena kidnapped. He was willing to snap my neck to get her. There must have been a bigger reason at play." I pointed out. I'm leaning more towards the probability of the Easter bunny working for the boogeyman than anything else. But why did Klaus want Elena?

"It doesn't matter. Elijah is dead, right? No one else even knows that Elena exists." Stefan said confidently

"Not that you know of." Rose pointed out

"That's not helping." Damon shook his head

"I hate to admit it. But I agree with her." I pointed out. Who knows who Elijah could have told about Elena.

"Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know what's real. He could be some stupid bedtime story." Stefan tried to be optimistic.

"He's real. And he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus then you're an idiot." Rose said firmly

"All right, we're shaking. You made your point." Damon said sarcastically

Elena put her bag over her shoulder and stood up from the couch.

"Where are you going?" Stefan asked her as she headed for the door.

"School. I'm late." I could tell she was lying through her teeth, but I didn't say anything. Hopefully she's not going to do something stupid.

"Let me grab my stuff, I'll go with you." Stefan offered as he stood up

"That's okay. I know where it is." Elena said before she turned around and left the room.

"She's in denial." Damon whispered to Rose, which made Stefan shoot him a disapproving look.
