The first thing I felt was a painful, dull ache in my head. I slowly opened my eyes and quickly shut them again, my eyes felt sensitive to the bright light. I kept them shut for a moment longer. I could tell I was no longer at home, the smell was all wrong and the feeling of the sheets I was laying on was unfamiliar.

I felt slightly dizzy, and I reached up to feel my forehead, but I winced the moment my fingers grazed over what felt like a cut. I can only hope that getting my face smashed against the sink didn't give me a concussion.

A hand tightly grasped my shoulder and shook me quickly. I finally opened my eyes again and looked to my left to find Elena laying next to me. I opened my mouth to speak but she quickly shook her head and placed her finger over her mouth. I furrowed my brows and she pointed, I followed her gaze to see a man sleeping in a chair. His head was thrown back in an uncomfortable manner.

The door of the hotel room was just behind him. He was doing a pretty bad job at guarding it. I glanced at Elena and nodded towards the door. She nodded and slowly climbed out of the bed, doing her best to keep quiet. I slowly crawled out after her, doing my best to keep my footsteps quiet.

I followed Elena to the door, cautiously stepping over the man's feet, trying not to wake him. As I looked down at the probable vampire I realized that I've never even asked the Salvatores if they sleep or not.

Elena carefully raised her hand and began to slide the chain to unlock the door. Just as she reached for the doorknob, the man spoke from behind us.

"I wouldn't." He said. I moved so I was between Elena and the vampire. I realized standing this close to him that I recognised him, he had been in the same year as me in school. We had never really spoken, but I recognised his face.

He then looked me in the eyes, I could feel he was trying to compel me. "Don't try to escape. Don't even move. Do you understand?" His eyes moved between mine and Elena's, trying to compel the both of us.

"Yeah." I uttered, trying to seem like I was compelled

"I understand." Elena said, playing along with the plan.

He looked proud of himself and walked away, believing that he had managed to compel us. But once he wasn't standing directly in front of us, Elena grabbed the door handle and pried the door open. But when the door swung open, we found Anna standing on the other side. She pushed us both back in with force.

"Seriously?" Anna asked the other vamp as Elena struggled. The man who I recognised took a hold of me, trying to keep me from fighting back. His old was painfully tight.

"I told them not to move." He defended himself. "I did that eye thing you taught me."

"But forgot the lesson about Vervain. They date vampires, Ben, duh." Anna said sarcastically

"What?" I questioned, I had to stop myself from asking why she thought I dated a vampire too. It wasn't exactly the right time to be nitpicking details.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Elena asked as she struggled against Anna.

She ignored our questioning and pushed Elena into the bathroom. The man holding me then dragged me over to the bathroom and shut the door behind me. I glanced around to see Elena standing over Bonnie, who was laying in the bathtub.

"What-? Is she okay?" I asked as I rushed to Elena's side.

"She's alive, but unconscious." Elena replied. She then got up and grabbed a small towel, running it under the water for a moment before bringing it back over to Bonnie. She began to gently dab at her forehead. The cold water on her head very quickly brought Bonnie back to consciousness.
