Kangwon National University's faculty-run startup company, Doctor Oregonine (CEO Choi Seon-eun, Professor of Forest Biomaterials Engineering), signed a supply contract worth a total of USD 4.5 million with local Beauty & Health specialized distribution companies at the '2024 Vietnam International Premium Consumer Goods Fair (VIPREMIUM)' held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from May 30 to June 2.
Dr. Oregonine was selected as a promising premium consumer goods export company among beauty & health companies in Gangwon-do, and set up a booth at the Gangwon-do Hall of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) to participate in international B2B specialized exhibitions and buyer consultations.
Dr.Oregonin is a company specializing in the development of functional materials and products derived from natural products. It graduated early with excellent grades from the Early Startup and Startup Leap Package Project conducted by Kangwon National University's Entrepreneurship Centered University. It is participating in the 'Forest Resource Functional Raw Material Standardization Technology Development' project, a Korea Forest Service R&D project, and is currently carrying out national R&D projects such as 'TIPS (Entrepreneurship Growth Technology Development Project), 2024 TIPS Overseas Marketing Support Project, 2024 R&D Rediscovery Project, Establishment of Growth Ladder for Custom Research Companies (Technology Startup), and 2024 Global IP Star Companies.
At this exhibition, there was a lot of interest in the multifunctional food products that were born from the research and development of patented substances related to sarcopenic obesity derived from domestic native tree resources conducted by Professor Choi Seon-eun's research team, and the new hair loss functional products that have been advanced through research and development through the Ministry of Industry's project and are currently in clinical trials. According to Dr. Oregonine, it received a lot of attention not only in Vietnam but also from overseas countries that participated in the exhibition.
