Chapter 36

"Linda I'm back."

"What's this no Sue I'm back."

"Sorry you weren't here when I left. Hello Sue."

"That didn't take long. What did he have to say?"

"He didn't want to say anything, he just about ran out of the place. He wants to get to know the kids. He is coming tomorrow for a picnic at his dad's house. We are going so I am going to make some food."

"I'm here so let me help." Linda and Amelia walked in the kitchen to get started cooking.

"I am getting the wine poured. I think we can all use a drink." Sue walks in with three glasses of wine and a huge grin on her face. "You did want a girl's night."

"That I did. I'm so lucky to have the best friends in the world.

"I'll drink to that." Linda clinks the glasses and drinks it down in one go.

"Let's get some music on and relax while we cook."

"What has gotten into you Sue? You have never been a big drinker or party girl."

"I need to let off some steam. My professor has been coming on to me and he is married. I like my job, but I can't take his remarks and hand problems."

"When did this start?"

"About two weeks ago. I don't know what to do Ames. He is getting worse as time goes on."

Linda smirks. "Record the bastard. After you have a recording make a copy, then let him hear what you have recorded. I bet he leaves you alone."

"I like your way of thinking. I am going to do it."

When the girls left Amelia was tired, sleep still didn't come to easy that night. She was worried about the kids meeting him and how this was going to complicate their lives. I know he has a right to see them and get to know them, but with his temper and attitude I would be lying if it didn't worry me.

"Mummy we got to get up and go to grandpas. We don't want to be late." I looked at my phone and it was only 6:30 in the morning.

"It is early, and we don't have to be at grandpa's house for five hours."

"I'm sorry mummy can I cuddle with you?" I lifted my blanket, and my little angel snuggles up next to me and closes his eyes.

An hour later my two other little angels crawled up on the bed and snuggled under with us. "Mummy I want some breakfast." Conny is pushing my eye open.

"I don't think she's awake." Olivia says. "We might have to make our own breakfast."

"I want waffles. We can't make them and there aren't any frozen ones."

"Then we are going to have to wake up mummy. But how?"

"I know, we will get water and wake her up."

"Mummy will get mad if we get her bed all wet. We need a better plan." Both Conny and Olivia sat on the bed trying to figure it out. "I know, we can tickle her. She likes to laugh."

"I like that idea Conny you take her right side, and I will take her odder side." They both take their little fingers and start to tickle her ribs. They were giggling so hard that their mother had to join them.

"You're awake can you make us waffles."

"Not until I tickle you two back." They are wiggling all over the bed giggling and having fun.

Evan who was woken up by all the giggles grabbed his mom from behind. "I got her, tickle her hurry." The sound of the giggles was heard throughout the house.

"Alright let's go get some breakfast." The three jumped off the bed and ran to the kitchen.

The children ate and went to get dressed happy to spend time with their grandpa. When it was time to go each child took one of the containers and ran over to the back yard. "Grandpa we are here."

"I see, what is all this you have with you?"

"Mummy made all our favorites so you can try them. She makes the best noodle salad. It has tuna fish in it. Mummy took us on a big boat and the man helped us bring in a big fish. He said it was a tuna." Evan then lifted his hands over his head. "The fish was from my foots to up here." He stretched up lifting his hands as high as he could.

"You are a good fisher; I should take you fishing with me soon."

"Grandpa you can't forget us." Conny looked up at him with the biggest brown eyes.

"Of course, I will take you and your sister too."

The two girls were so happy they ran to their mother. "We are going fishing."

Evan looked so sad. Amelia knew he wanted to spend time with just his grandpa. "How about when Evan goes fishing, we go to the botanical garden and then the plant store to buy some plants and make a garden here."

"Like we had at home?" You could see Conny's excitement. She has always helped water and care for the plants in her garden back home.

"We can't have some of the same kind of plants, but we can find different kinds of pretty plants that grow around here."

"Okay can we go tomorrow?" Conny was more excited about the plants than Olivia. She liked the pond and the fish most.

"I think I want to go fishing with grandpa and bring home some fish."

Amelia knew that she liked the fish back home. "I was going to let you pick out the fountain and the pond."

"We are going to have fishes in the garden?" Now Olivia was excited.

"Of course, we are going to have fish in it. My girl loves to feed them."

Olivia thought for a minute, "Mommy is someone feedings our fishes back home?"

I had to smile at her worried little face. "Sadie is feeding them for us. She told you she couldn't come so she could take care of them."

This started all of them thinking about home and missing their friends. "Grandpa we are going home soon I miss my friends."

Amelia gave Evan a side hug. "I told you that we could go back in the summer to visit."

"I don't want to live here. I miss home." Olivia is whining. Conny sits next to her and leans on her."

"Give it time we don't even have the house done. Remember when we get settled in Sadie is coming to visit."

"Can we skype with her tonight. I want to see if my fishes are okay."

"Yes, and if you are patient, I will let Butch skype next week and you can see lollipop, and the rest of them."

"Do you think they will forget us?"

"No, they won't forget you. Listen your Aunt Linda is getting married, and we have to help her with her wedding. Let's wait and see how you feel after the wedding."

"Hey, you are going to make grandpa sad if you leave to soon."

"I'm sorry grandpa we miss home but we love you. Conny goes over and gives him a hug.
