Mitchell was hurt that his son didn't want to sit with him. "Evan I was thinking that we could have a boy's day and go to the racetrack and ride the mini racers. We had a lot of fun last time."

"Can Grandpa and Uncle Collin come?"

"If they want to."

Evan put his arm around Collins arm. "Will you come with us?"

"How can I say no to you."

"Grandpa, will you come?" He nodded with his mouth full. "We are coming da."

"If you guys are going on a boy's trip. I think us girls need to take a trip. We can go to the petting zoo."

"That is not a good idea Ames. The doctor said take it easy. Walking the Zoo would be too much."

Amelia hated what Mitchell said but knew he was right, she had to wait until the doctor said it was safe. "Then girls we are going to the movies. I hate this I never had to watch what I did when I had the triplets." Amelia's frustration was definitely there for everyone to hear.

"Baby it is only until the doctor says you can get up more. You go again on Friday." Collin reached over Conny and rubbed her shoulder.

Amelia's emotions were heightened being pregnant. "I didn't mean to sound so angry. Pregnancy hormones and stress are getting the better of me."

The evening was good, after dinner they went to the music room. The kids and Amelia played as they all sang, by the time the night was over Amelia was cuddled in Collins arms in her bed.

The next morning Collin and Ames went to the vet. Linda and Steven are there already. Linda saw her and headed to the bathroom. Steven did the same thing. Collin and Amelia followed them shortly after. "Take off your jacket and give it to me."

"Thanks Linda I needed help with this."

"I am your best friend you can always count on me." When I stepped out of the bathroom Collin is in Steven's jacket.

"Sue is going to distract the guards wait for her them we will leave."

Collin stared at the two women. "Is that what the two of you talked about late last night."

"Linda was the one who helped me run last time and she will help me again if I need her to. She is the best." When they sat in the vet's office Amelia was nervous. "Linda thank you, Mitchell is being an ass I am not sure who the father of the twins are. He wants a paternity test. The hospital did the test when I went back for a checkup. Collin thinks he will have the doctor lie about the results."

"You and Collin are getting your own results."

"When the doctor tells me it is safe, I am going to need your help again. I am leaving and this time I will not come back."

"Mitchell is getting that bad again. I hate that I will lose you and for good. Sue is here you better go while they can't see you up close.

Collin lets go while they can't tell we are gone." The two of them went out the back door. The doctor's office was down the hall on the right. "I am Amelia Driggers I have an appointment."

"Take a seat the doctor is in with another patient and will be right in."

Minutes later the doctor came in the room. "Hello. I was told what you wanted. The test is not hard to do. It will take time for the results. I would also like to check you out after we get what we need for the test."

"That is fine. I was in an accident two weeks ago and the doctor at the hospital said I needed to take it easy. We need a paternity test because my ex-husband got me drunk and took advantage of me. This is the man I am in a relationship with, him and I made love two days later so it can be either ones child. We don't trust him to not falsify the results. He owns the hospital, and it would not be hard to do. I also don't believe the doctor's advice. He would lie for him."

"That is quite the story. Let's do this, I will not lie to you, and we can find out the truth."

Forty-five minutes later they were back at the vets. "How did it go?" Linda asked.

He ran the test and gave me a checkup. He said I was fine I can handle walking and light work he did say no lifting over five pounds and not to be on my feet more than two hours at a time."

Collin put his hand on Amelia's shoulder. "We should get the puppy if we take much longer, they're going to be suspicious."

"You're right Collin. Linda, you guys come for dinner. Hopefully Mitchell will not come over tonight. He has been there every night, sense I came home from the hospital."

"Ames talk later we have to go." They went back in the bathroom and changed. When they came out Collin took her hand bringing her to the counter.

Amelia yelled over her shoulder. "Make sure Sue and her friend come to."

Collin shook his head. "We are here to get twinkle toes."

"You have a very cute puppy. She is as good as new. The vet said she was not as bad as they thought when they operated. She is running and doing well."

Wanting to take proper care of the puppy Amelia ask. "Is there any special instruction we need to follow to care for her?"

"She has been here for a little over two weeks. She could have gone home over a week ago, but we were told that the owner was four and they were afraid it would be too much for Twinkle to recuperate with a small child. They told us to take good care of her until she is fully recovered and didn't need any care at all."

Amelia and Collins looked at each other surprised. "Let's take her home." Collin went to pay the bill as they handed Amelia the puppy. "The bill has been paid already." Amelia shook her head knowing Mitchell was behind it.

They walked out to the car. Amelia chuckled at Collin. "He is good for something, even if it is paying a bill. Olivia will be surprised when we bring her home."

"You know if I was in Mitchell's shoes I would fight for you. I wouldn't go about it the way he is, but he does love you and the kids. If things go the way I hope, we can start our plan to leave in three weeks. I want you to make sure this is what you want."

"Collin how can you say that to me, you know what we want to go home, and we want you to join us."

"If those babies are his you might get a maternal feeling and want to let him watch them grow and be born. Being pregnant your feelings can go all over the place."

"I left pregnant with the three, I can do it with two."

At the house Amelia went in first with Collin right behind her. He had one arm around her waist the other handheld the puppy between them hidden. "Kids we are home." Amelia yelled.

The three kids came running with the puppies nipping at their feet. "Mum where did you go?"

"Olivia come here a minute." Amelia looked back at Collin. She winked at him giving him the go ahead. He then stepped back holding up Twinkles.

Olivia squealed and reached up for the puppy. "Twinkle you are here. I thought I would never see you again." Conny and Evan started petting her taking turns holding the puppy.

"She is all better, but you need to take it easy on her for a week to make sure she is up to running as much as the six of you run."

"I will make sure she is okay I promise. Mum we are going to need another bed."

"They can share tonight we will get another one in the morning."

"No, you're not." Mitchell walked in with a canopy bed and smiled. I have two more of these and I have a car bed in the back of the car. Now she has a bed in every room like the rest."

"Thank you da. You told me you would make sure mum, and Twinkles would come home and you did it. Olivia walked over and hugged him then kissed him on the cheek." Mitchell was taken back this was the first time one of the kids hugged and kissed him without being told too."
