The next morning Amelia left the kids with Sue. "Aunt Sue can we go out back and play?"

"Go ahead don't leave the back yard."

While the kids are all outside playing, trying out all the different sets of toys their grandpa had set up for them. It was kid central, and they loved it. Mitchell comes over to see his dad and sees the kids in the yard playing. "Hey dad. You got new neighbors I see."

Max hurries Mitchell in the house so the kids don't call him grandpa. "Yeah, they are nice people the kids are sweet."

The kids hear Mitchell call Max, dad. "Do you dink that is our da?"

"We got to gets closer to hear what he says."

"Olivia, you have to be quiet, so they don't hears us" Conny bends over and goes under the open window. Evan and Olivia watch her and follow.

"Dad how are you doing? I am sorry I have been so busy lately I haven't seen you."

"I'm good son. How are you and your friend doing?"

"I have been taking it slow. I don't want to make the same mistakes I made with Ames. When you talked me into marrying her, I thought it would work. I wasn't ready for it then. I know I hurt her in so many ways, I can't change it. I don't think she will ever come back, and I don't really blame her. I have to admit I understand her leaving but I still get angry when I think about it."

"I am glad you don't blame her. To be honest I never thought you would act like that."

"I never figured I would get jealous like I did. I can't believe I hit her and treated her that badly. I have never been like that with anyone else, just her. I still miss her, but I don't know if I would treat her any different than I did in the past. I don't know why I did it to start with, and I don't know if I could stop myself from doing it again."

"I feel like it is my fault. I am never butting into your love life again."

Mitchell pauses he wants to change the subject. "I heard you bought an art gallery for this new artist that is taking the art world by storm."

"The artist is renting the gallery. I just set some meetings up for her. It is opening in a week. There has been a lot of interest in the gallery."

"I am going to have to miss it, work it taking me over to England. I told you about the new business venture I am taking on. The partner wants to have a person-to-person meeting to set up the contracts. That is why I am here, what do you think about filling in at the office for me while I am gone. You don't have to be there all day just long enough to handle any issues that come up while I am gone."

"You have an assistant why don't you leave her take over."

"My secretary is my assistant, and she is coming with me on this trip."

"I think you need to hire a secretary and make your secretary your assistant and give her the pay raise for the position." Max paused like he was finding the right words.

Seeing the strange look Mitchell asks "What is the look for?"

"I know Helen has been with you for some time. You will say I am acting weird, but I have this bad feeling about her. She is hiding something."

"I don't know why you feel that way, but she is a big help to me. I do agree with you about help. My workload is getting worse and worse. When I get back from this trip I am going to get the help I need."

"Sense you have taken over the business has grown so much larger. You have worked very hard and become well known. That is all well and good but if you don't slow down, I am afraid you will wear yourself out."
