Chapter 86
Max walked over. "See it is going to work out and your kids will love you."
"I also got a present for you guys out back." He had never bought something for them they didn't react. "Go out back and see what it is."
The kids ran outside to see a giant water slide. "Wow. That is the coolest present ever."
"I am glad you like it Evan. If you go change you could go, get wet."
They didn't wait and ran in the house. "Wait we forgot." The three ran back out to Mitchell. "Thank you this is wonderful." Conny said then gave him a hug, and a kiss. Olivia did the same thing but Evan shook his hand, then ran back into the house."
"Good job da." Amelia said with a smile.
"I want them to know I love them and want to spend time with them."
"You are working on it."
"I am sorry about all the security lately; we haven't found the ones that tried to kill you and the kids. Once we find them, I will take most of it away. I will always leave two on you to make sure if one if my competitors wants to get even, they can't use you or the kids to try and hurt me by hurting you."
"Why didn't you tell me that in the beginning. It might not have been so bad having them around." She knew it might be partly true, but she also knew it was to control her.
"One more thing I am working on, communication. I am going to talk to you and let you know how I feel without screaming or giving orders. I don't promise it will work all the time, but I am going to get there as fast as I can."
Amelia gave him a shit ass grin. "Keep it up and the kids will love you for it."
"What about their mother?"
"Time will tell, we might just start to get along."
Three weeks passed slowly. Mitchell did his best to put up with Collin, knowing they couldn't have sex made it easier. He went to her house every night to see Amelia and the kids, watching him with his family was driving him insane. "Hello, I came over to bring you guys dessert." Mitchell walked in with ice cream, and everything needed to make banana splits. "I have been spending a lot of dinner times here I wanted to bring over something to show my thanks."
"That was nice of you Mitchell." Amelia went to take the stuff.
"I will put it away; I don't want you to hurt your arm." Mitchell walked in the kitchen like he owned the place putting things away."
Collin was beyond tired of entertaining Mitchell every night. Even Max and Bridget started going home to leave the family alone. "We have to take the puppies out to use the bathroom." Collin glanced at Amelia then took the kids out.
"We don't get too much time just you and me. How are things going with your arm and the babies? You have a nice baby bump already."
"It was the same way last time with the triplets."
"Can I rub your belly. I missed out on all that stuff last time. I know it was my fault but I but I don't want to miss it this time."
"Go ahead." Mitchell smiles, his eyes are shining holding back his emotions. Seeing him like this touched Amelia, she can see the man she loved when he is like that. She clears her throat also getting emotional. "My cast comes off in a week. I can't wait. This thing is nerve wracking, it itches bad. The results of the paternity will be in about the same time. I wanted to tell you that I am changing doctors after the results are here."
Mitchell takes away his hand. "Why? You don't like him or something."
"I don't feel comfortable going into an office having staff whisper when they see me. I am not comfortable there. I also don't want to see the same doctor Helen sees. When I start at a new office it will be one man as the father no two if fathers."
