Chapter 74

The next morning Mitchell got up to a call from Helen. "Do you have to call me this early in the morning?"

"I have a doctor's appointment at ten this morning."

"I will be there at nine." Mitchell hung up not in the mood to deal with her.

Amelia got up with the kids. "We have to get up and go to the gallery."

"It is summer I want to play."

Amelia messed up Evan's hair. "We have to go to work, and you guys are my best helpers."

They went through their morning routine. When she drove to the gallery the guards followed her like normal. This time another vehicle was behind them. The man made a call. "I have been following her for the last few days. It seems she has started working at this art place. The problem is there are bodyguards following them."

"How many?"

There are two of them around all the time. "I don't think the woman likes having them there."

"Alright this is what we are going to do." He tells his son the plan. "We will do it after we have her schedule down packed. It will give me time to find someone to handle the box van."

"Where are you getting the van?"

"He will steal it; I have someone in mind. Let's see if I can find him. He did this before."

"Then you want me to keep following her?"

"Keep an eye on her also her guards I have to know when the shift stops and starts."

At the doctor's office Mitchell sat there not saying a word to Helen. "Mitchell please talk to me. I know the way I handled things was wrong. It is just I love you so much."

"I don't want to hear it. You had no right to do this to me. Then lie about it."

"I have waited for you so long. I thought if I had a physical relationship with you, you would realize you had feelings for me."

"I don't want to talk to you about this here and now." Helen sat there looking like she was heartbroken.

The nurse called. "Helen Baker."

Helen stood up but Mitchell didn't. "Aren't you coming with me?" Mitchell stood up slowly following her. "If you don't want to its fine."

"I want to know if the baby is alright. I also wanted to see if we can find out if it is mine."

"Hello Helen. I have your test results. You are four weeks along. The tests show the baby is doing good. At this early stage of pregnancy, you should feel morning sickness and be tired easier, I recommend you reduce physical work outs."

Mitchell spoke up. "I want to know if we can find out paternity before the baby is born."

"We can run a test when she is seven weeks along. I will need to draw blood from the mother and get a saliva swap from you. Most insurance policies don't pay for this test, and it is quite expensive. Once the test is done it will take three weeks to get the results."

"When does she have to come back?"

"If you want to do the test, she should come back in three to four weeks. It would be best at four weeks; we could also do the first ultrasound then too."

Helen stayed quiet as they talked, hating what they were talking about. "Is there anything I should do to make sure the baby is healthy?"

"I am going to give you vitamins you take every day. I recommend you eat right and get plenty of sleep. Avoid over exercise, walks are the best for mother and baby. If you don't have any more questions, I will see you in four weeks."

The weekend came and the kids were cuddled in their mother's bed. "Mum, can we have fun today?"

"What do you want to do my handsome boy?"

"I want to ride bumper cars." The girls hearing this jumped-up yelling yeah.

"You want to go to the amusement park or the kid's racetrack?"

Evan yelled, "Amusement Park." The girls ran and got dressed.

The kids yelling and running out of the house caught Mitchell and Max's attention. "What are they up to today?"

"She didn't tell me they had plans. Go ask her." Max said.

Mitchell walked to his car thinking about what his dad said. He threw his briefcase in the car and walked over to the kids. "You guys seem happy."

"We are going to the amusement park." Conny said as she climbed into the car.

"Ames would you mind if I go with you?"

She didn't say anything for quite a while. "You can follow us in your own car. Just in case you get a problem at work and need to leave early."

"Give me a few minutes to change my clothes, I will be right there."

Amelia watched him take off. It is not worth fighting with him. If he gets crazy, I can go home without him. Collin, when are you getting back. I miss you so much. Is all she is thinking right now. "Did you guys give the puppies water and food?"

"I fed them, Olivia gave them water and Conny gave them toys."

"Good job. I will call your grandpa and have him check on them later." They saw Mitchell getting in his car and took off for a day of fun. Amelia hoped.

"Mum, is he going to be mean again?"

"I hope not Conny I really hope not."

At the amusement park the kids started running around Amelia. "Mum bumper cars first please."

"Evan, you and your pumper cars. What do you say girls, cars first?" The screams said it all.

Olivia asked. "Can we have our own cars I don't want to share?"

"Of course, you can." Mitchell tells her causing her to look at him then at Amelia. When Amelia nods yes, she is all smiles showing her two dimples. One of the only ways to tell the two girls apart is Olivia has two dimples and Conny only has one.

They have been on most of the rides they like when Evan came over. "Can we do the water ride?"

"It is way past lunch time it will be the last ride for today."

Ames pulls a plastic bag out of her oversize handbag. "What is that for?"

"You'll see very soon." She is all smiles "Aren't you getting on this ride?"

"I think I am done with rides; you go with the kids." His phone began to ring as he answered her. "You go I will catch up."

"Hurry mum, we are climbing all the way to the top and there is a lot of stairs."

"You can all fit in one boat. Watch your step it is a tight fit for your feet down there."

The whole way down the kids were getting wet squealing for joy having a good time. At the bottom they are all laughing. "Let's get out and changed you are all wet."

I stood up and helped the kids out with one of the rides helpers. When I went to step out my shoelaces caught on something, and I was falling. I braced myself for the impact.

"Watch it." The man helping with the ride caught me. He was very strong, he pulled me out of the boat and placed me on the ground. "Are you alright?"

"I am fine thanks to you so much for the help. I can imagine how much it would have hurt falling like that."
