The sound of a baby crying through the monitor awoken Celeste from her slumber. She mentally groaned at the lack of sleep she was getting for another night.

The man beside her shuffled as he heard the cries. She felt the bed lighten as he stood up. He spoke, "I got her."

At the sound of the issue being resolved, Celeste relaxed into the bed again. Her eyes looked towards the clock on the nightstand, the time read four a.m. She really needed to establish a bedtime routine for her daughter.

She didn't ponder on this thought for too long before she fell back asleep. Her body didn't awake until the sun began to rise. Her arm reached out searching for her fiancé.

When her touch collided against his body, she opened her eyes. There he laid sound asleep with their daughter on his chest. She lightly smiled at the sight, the newborn would never learn to sleep alone. Deciding to allow him more rest, she tied the robe to her body, and trailed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Her right hand stirred the batter as the pan heated. Just then Sanai came down the steps. There was only two days until her ninth birthday, so she was extra excited.

"You're cooking?" Sanai asked while pouring the orange juice into the cup.

Celeste nodded, "Yeah, something simple. I woke up kinda hungry today."

"Same." Sanai said with a small laugh. A lot had changed in the span of four years.

Sanai was a lot older. She was starting to mature and gain more of her dad's personality. It was always interesting for Celeste to compare and contrast their personalities.

Sanai even started eating protein. She only ate chicken, but that was enough. Sanai's separation anxiety had completely disappeared. She didn't cry at the thought of leaving her mother anymore. She didn't need help with her homework as much and she was becoming more independent as time passed.

"Reign is awake." Sanai said as she heard her baby sister cries. Reign was a very sweet baby, but she hated being alone. She always needed her parents or sister unless she was actively sleeping. This was new for Celeste, because Sanai was quieter and more relaxed as a baby.

Celeste had Reign five months ago, so she was still adjusting to being in the real world. Her cries got louder and closer.

Ryan turned the corner and entered the kitchen as well, "She won't stop crying." He said in a strained voice. Celeste watched as he rubbed his hand down his face.

"Give her here, you gotta finish cooking those." She said referring to the pancakes. Celeste grabbed her daughter Ryan before he kissed her. She smiled at the affection from him.

Ryan was Celeste's fiancé. They began dating a year after her break up with Saint. She figured Saint had no plans of rekindling their relationship after the miscarriage, so they both moved on. She truly only wanted a break, but he didn't seem too fond of the idea.
