"You got a stripper pregnant!?" Saint's mother yelled from across the room. The concerned mother practically had steam coming from her ears.

Saint was caught off guard by the obnoxious reaction, "Ma, let's not go there. It happened five years ago when I was young and didn't know better."

The mention of a specific time alerted his father's response, "Five years ago? She had the child five years ago and just now telling you?"

Salem added onto the previous comment, "Yeah, that lowkey sounds weird as hell. Who doesn't tell someone about their own child?"

All the unnecessary opinionated points being thrown out were starting to annoy Saint. He couldn't control or change something that happened five years ago. He could only live with the mistakes younger him created.

"Could we not be so rude to the girl? She probably didn't ask for this situation either." Summer told the family, but they all were stuck in their own viewpoints.

Salem said, "She could've got an abortion."

Saint's mother spoke again, "I don't know Saint, is she out for your money?" Saint looked at her blankly as he listened to the sentence leave her mouth.

"I don't know much about Celeste-" Saint started but was cut off, "You don't know anything about her." Salem said interrupting.

"I do know she isn't out for my money. Celeste doesn't come off as some gold digger, or I haven't picked up on it yet. The timeline she's telling makes complete sense."

His dad added another remark, "I still can't wrap my head around the child already being in school before she told you."

"What do you plan to do if the girl is yours?" Salem questioned, as he looked towards his brother for a reply. Saint thought the question was entirely stupid.

"What you mean? Imma take care of my daughter like any other father would, she went long enough without me already."

Summer replied to her brother, "That was a stupid question, Salem." Saint agreed with the teenager that seemed to have more common sense than her older brother.

Salem was the type to be a deadbeat voluntarily and Saint meant this with no disrespect. Salem just wasn't born with the natural dad gene.

Now the conversation was beginning to turn into a bash Celeste session, and Saint wouldn't stand for that. He didn't feel enough resentment towards her to let his family continue to hate on his daughter's mother.

Saint cleared the air, "If the baby is mine, I'm taking care of her, with y'all support or not. Y'all ain't gone continue to talk down on Celeste for this shit." Saint left the house and walked toward his car.

Today was the paternity test appointment, so he needed to leave anyway. As he opened his car door, he heard his sister calling after him.

With a few more steps, she made it to the car, "Sometimes it's so easy to hate them." She said as he sat in the Porsche.
