"So they conjured up a plan to meet late at night
They told not a soul, kept the whole thing tight
Now, her mother's wedding dress fit like a glove
You don't need much when you're really in love
Except for a few things, or some told
Like the family jewels and a satchel of gold
Then next to the graveyard by the old oak tree
On a dark foggy night at a quarter to three
She was ready to go, but where was he?
And then?
She waited
And then?
There in the shadows, was it her man?
And then?
Her little heart beat so loud.
And then?
And then baby, everything went black."

He asked her to marry him!
You must tell her before it's too late!
Or else...!!

Save her Victor.

Victor's POV:

I woke up in sweats. My heart's pounding out of my chest. I ran my fingers through my hair as I collected my every thoughts. Now, I know who they wanted me to stop.

I watched Emily shut the door after I had walked her home. I felt myself smiling at the thought of our kiss we shared at the cabin. I wished I was getting betrothed to Emily instead of Victoria. My body tensed thinking about Victoria. She's nice and wonderful lady however, I don't feel anything towards her. I was intrigued to meet her, the more I talked to her the more I find her as acquaintance. I had reached my front door and entered inside, I walked into the tea room to find Victoria and her folks sitting on the couches. I was taken by surprised.

"Greetings, Everglots." I quickly fastened my tie and fixed my suit to look more presentable.

"Greeting... Victor." Mrs. Everglots responds, I searched the room for my folks. Mrs. Everglots saw my eyes and cleared her throat.

"Your mother and father stepped out to discuss the arrangement of the wedding. We asked to move the wedding day to next month." My eyes widen at the sudden news. Why all of a sudden? Why are they moving the date? My hands began to sweat as my heart starts to race. I gave them a half smile before walking into father's office. I must tell mother and father that I do not want this marriage before it becomes official.

"Victor! Thank goodness you're here now. We ought to talk about the wedding day!" Mother tells me as I entered the room, she looked excited to talk about the wedding. Her face gleamed with happiness. I began to feel guilty, who am I without my mother's title? My mother suffered a lot when she birth me. Father and mother could not have any more children after me. If I get married, this would mean mother would finally have a daughter, who she can go on walks with and have tea parties. She's always with my father and I.

"Mother?"

"Yes Victor?"

"What do you think of Victoria?" I asked, her eyes soften when she catches my gaze. She lets out a heavy sigh before pressing her lips together. I raised my eyebrows in suspense.

"Quite frankly... I think she is a nice little lady but, I always felt... acquaintance rather than her husband's mother." My mother tells me. I become confused. I crossed my arms across my chest.

"Then why have this wedding?"

"Well son, we do not want to turn away the Everglots as they desperately need sterlings. And marrying them would raise our status and make my business bloom." Father says, they looked at each other before staring at me. I looked at the ground collecting my thoughts. If I marry Victoria, that would mean I will keep longing for Emily for the rest of my life. Do I really want to spend the rest of my life with someone I do not love? Father's business will grow bigger due to marrying an Everglot. Do I really want to sacrifice my life to please my parents? As I went back and forth with my thoughts, I sighed heavily before speaking.

"I... I still need time to learn more about Victoria. I-um... Surely, if we give them a few currencies to stall the wedding until I can... truly understand Victoria." I tell them, disappointed. They worked hard to get me where we are. I must return the favor.

"Perhaps we could. We do have that business trip overseas, we must plan accordingly." Mother's reassurance helped me relaxed. Overseas trip takes 3 full moons and it will give me enough time to actually pursue Victoria... Although my heart doesn't want too.

"Then all is set." I gave them a short smile before we left the room. Mother and father told the Everglots the plan and they agreed. The rest of the evening was spent in the tea room with the Everglots, mother and Mrs. Everglots mostly talked about their life and what not. Father and Mr. Everglot were in father's office room, father was showing him all sorts of things about the fish business. Victoria and I were by our mothers. We didn't talk much, I focused on drinking the tea. (Victor does not want ANYTHING to do with Victoria LMAO).

"So Victor and Victoria, how is your relation going?" My mother asked, I choked on my tea as I was not prepare to answer any questions. Mrs. Everglots stared down at me, I cleared my throat and gave a small chuckle.

"Ah well... I'd say it has been splendid." I glance at Victoria hoping that she was pleased of my answer. Her facial expression showed confusion. Did she not like that answer? Was the answer not suffice enough?

"I rather not say it was splendid as I did caught Victor being alone with Victoria not once but twice." Mrs. Everglots rolled her eyes as she fans herself. Mother and I looked at each other. I could tell mother's disappointed with Mrs. Everglots few choices in words.

"Apologies for my misbehave son. I raised him to be a gentlemen not a bloat, isn't that right my dear?" We began to hold conversations with our eyes. I've already apologized countless of times. Why must I apologize again? My eyes read, mother's eyes pleaded as if her life depended on it. I let out a sigh as I am doing this to please my mother and father and their reputation.

"Please do forgive me Mrs. Everglots. I will be sure that Mrs. Miriam is with us at all times." I said. Mrs. Everglot grunted with annoyance and we continued the evening with small banter and chatter.

~~~
I stepped out of the tub after washing, I wrapped myself in a robe and one of the servants had set my night clothes on my bed. I changed out of the robe and put on my night clothes. It was such a tiring day especially sitting with the Everglots. I began to close my eyes thinking about the kiss I shared with Emily. I felt my body relax and soon I drifted off to sleep.
"He asked her to marry him!
You must tell her before it's too late!
Or else...!!"
Save her Victor.
