"It's my birthday party today!" Willa exclaims.

"I know, are you excited?" my mom asks her, gasping dramatically.

"Yeah!" she giggles.

"Hey, Willa, why don't you come play with sissy in the playroom while mommy and daddy get everything ready, okay?" Jessica says, grinning and offering her hand.

"Okay!" she says, running over and taking her hand, going with her to the playroom.

Joe gently grabs my hand, pulling me over to him. "Did you, by chance, tell your parents about Jaclyn coming?"

I bite my lip, hesitating.

"Addison," he groans, giving me a look.

"I got scared," I whine quietly.

He gives me a look. "Baby."

"I will deal with the consequences when she and Liam get here," I tell him.

He sighs, nodding. "You should've warned them."

"I know," I sigh. "I know."

"Everything okay?" my mom asks, walking over.

We both straighten up, turning to her.

"Yes," I grin.

"Addie," Joe starts.

"Okay, okay," I sigh. "There's something you guys don't know about the party today."

"Okay," she says, giving me a nervous look.

"I-"

The door swings open, Stella, Braedon, Hope, Dean, Victoria, and George enter followed by Liam and Jaclyn.

"We made it!" Hope cheers.

"Hello hello!" Jaclyn grins.

Joe presses his lips together, closing his eyes. "Perfect timing."

My parents look over at her before turning to me.

"An explanation, please?" my mom asks, trying to stay calm.

"Okay," I sigh. "Basically while I was back in Texas she helped me a lot with the research and everything I needed to get back to the girls and so I decided to allow her a chance to prove herself."

She gulps, nodding slowly before turning around and standing a little taller.

"Jenna-" Jaclyn starts hesitantly, taking a step forward.

"You-" my mom starts, stepping toward Jaclyn, her finger raised to point at her.

"Yeah, no." I interrupt, taking a few steps forward and in between them.

My mom turns to me, shocked.

"Look," I say, sighing as I look between the two of them. "I understand that this whole thing is inevitable. I understand that things need to be hashed out but right now is not that time. It is my daughter's birthday party today and I swear on everything if anyone messes up my daughters' party I don't give a shit who you are, you will never be allowed near me or my children ever again. Do I make myself clear?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Joe's brows raise as he nods slowly.

"Yes," my mom answers, blinking a few times.

I look over to Jaclyn, raising a brow.

"Absolutely, Addison," she nods. "I understand."

"Thank you," I tell both of them. "Now behave."
