SURPRISE CHAPTER. enjoy babes ;)
**
As Jessica works with Willa on some homeschooling stuff, I take the opportunity to spend some time with Delphine, helping her with some puzzles, numbers, letters, shapes, all of the things. Though, most of it doesn't matter as right now her only concern is playing with baby dolls. She's less interested in just about anything else. It just doesn't help that I'm still struggling so much with losing the baby. It would be a relief if I was still pregnant. But now, it's just a reminder.
"Daddy?" Delphine asks, looking up at me.
"Daddy will be home later, baby, daddy's working," I tell her, moving her hair out of her face.
"Call daddy on da pone," she says, pointing to my phone sitting next to us.
"You want to call daddy?" I ask, raising my brows.
She nods. "Yes."
"Yes, okay. Let's try to call daddy. I don't know if he's going to answer, he might be busy."
I tap Joe's name, putting the call on speaker and letting it ring and ring until voicemail picks up.
"Uh oh!" Delphine says, her mouth shaped into an 'O'.
"Aw man," Willa pouts, having walked over once it started ringing.
"I'm sorry my loves, maybe daddy will call in a-"
My phone starts ringing, Joe's photo with the girls showing up on the screen.
"Daddy!" Willa squeals.
"Daddy!" Delphine repeats.
"Okay, okay," I laugh lightly, answering the call. "Hello."
"Hey, you guys okay?" he asks, concerned.
"Hi daddy!" Willa squeals.
"Daddy!" Delphine giggles excitedly.
Joe fake gasps. "Oh my gosh, all three of my favorite girls?!"
They giggle.
"Two little girls were especially sad because they are missing their daddy today."
"Oh," he says, drawing out the word. "I miss you too, girls. Are you being good for mommy and Jess?"
"Yes!" Willa says.
"Yes!" Delphine responds.
"They're having a good day," I tell him honestly.
"Good," he says, obviously smiling. "And you? How are you doing today?"
"I'm okay," I answer.
"Daddy you come home!" Delphine says.
"Whoa," he exclaims playfully.
"Sissy, you have to be nice," Willa tells her. "You have to ask daddy, not tell daddy."
My brows raise, a grin spreading across my lips.
"You say, daddy, can you come home please?" Willa tells her.
"Daddy, come home peas!" Delphine says.
"Close enough," I shrug.
"Daddy can't come home right now," Joe tells her. "I'm sorry. But I will be home later, hopefully before you go to sleep."
"Is it gonna be a late night?" I ask.
"Potentially."
"Okay," I nod.
