I'll admit this is taking a bit longer than I had in mind, but I assume I should've known he'd make me wait after learning that I knew it was him and tricked him into bringing me somewhere private. But then again, I also figured he'd be just so excited to finally talk to me and rub it in my face that it took me so long to figure out.
Footsteps against the concrete floor grow closer, soon stopping as Jason stops at the gate, glaring at me.
I sit on the bed, my back against the wall, one leg crossed over the other, my body leaned back against the wall with my arms crossed over my chest. "Took you long enough."
"I had things to do," he says.
"Oh," I tell him teasingly, nodding before smirking.
He licks his lips, leaning against the bars, one hand over his head, the other grasping the bar he'd use to open it if he wanted to do so. "How long have you known?"
I sigh. "Been onto you for almost two months. Known for sure for around a month and a half."
He chuckles. "I did pretty good, if I do say so myself."
I shrug. "Only because no one was expecting you."
He scoffs.
"I mean, if you were that good William wouldn't have had to shut you down after I left."
His face falls, jaw locking. "William didn't know what the hell he was doing."
It's my turn to scoff, giving him a look. "Yes the fuck he did. You were nothing before I came to work on your team, and I have no doubt that you were nothing once I left."
His eyes darken, the insult clearly bothering him.
"Heard that before?" I ask, pointing out his reaction.
"You bitch," he shakes his head. "You've always thought you were better than everyone."
"No," I shake my head, leaning forward slightly. "But I have always known that I was better than you."
"Then why the hell did it take you so long to figure out it was me?" he asks.
I bounce my eyebrows up once before shrugging. "I admit you were good this time. You played it smart."
He smirks. "I'm better than you know."
I laugh lightly. "Debatable. I mean sure, you didn't lead on that it was you but that's simply because none of us thought you'd ever be capable of doing something so well planned. You've never had the talent for any of this. But once you were thought of, it was easy to pinpoint you as guilty. You were sloppy when you thought you couldn't be seen or found. To be fair, I had forgotten you existed. That's the only reason you got away with it for so long."
He blinks, obviously trying to hold something back. But why?
"I am right, right? As to why you did this to begin with?" I ask, furrowing my brows at him knowingly.
He raises his brows, smirking. "Why do you think I did this? I'm curious."
I raise my eyebrows, nodding. "I think that you're angry. I think you're angry that you couldn't be successful without me and your family disowned you for it once William shut down your team."
He gulps, his jaw locking again, telling me I'm right.
I force myself to ignore the smirk wanting to settle on my lips, continuing to talk instead. "I also think there was another reason."
He continues to stare, urging me to continue.
"I think you couldn't stand the fact that I turned you down when you asked me to go out with you and then I left and immediately got into a relationship."
