"Mama, I-" Willa starts.
Reaching over, I grab the nearest trash can, placing it in front of her just in time for her to throw up into it, starting to whine.
Gently setting Delphine down, I rub Willa's back. "Okay, baby, okay. You're okay, I've got you."
Once she's finished, she cries again.
"I don't like that," she says.
"Aw, baby," I tell her, moving her hair from her face. "I know."
"I want daddy," she says after a minute, letting out a deep breath.
"Okay, baby," I nod.
"I go get him," she says, pushing herself from my lap. She gets up, walking toward the open door and exiting as I grab Delphine, placing her on my hip as I follow her.
Willa maneuvers her way through backstage, though it's a short distance, Delphine starts wiggling.
"Hey," I tell her, adjusting her on my hip.
"Daddy?"
"Hi princess," I hear his voice as I fix Delphine's shirt before turning the corner to see him holding her, moving the hair from her face as I did before.
"Mama's home, daddy," she tells him, pointing as I turn the corner, Joe looking up and meeting my eyes, relief filling his. "Mama's home."
He gulps. "I see, princess," he tells her.
Delphine giggles, wiggling out of my arms and running away.
Joe gulps.
Londyn reaches forward, taking Willa from Joe knowingly.
"Ms. Londyn!" she says excitedly.
"Hi," Londyn responds.
Joe takes a single step, letting out a shaky breath.
"Hi," I start.
He lets out a small laugh, gulping again. "You're home?"
I let out a breath, looking away as tears fill my eyes yet again. I then nod, looking at him again. "I'm home."
He lets out a sigh of relief, his eyes tearing up as well as he shakes his head, taking the few strides to me, his hands pulling my face to his, attaching our lips for only a second before pulling away, leaning his forehead against mine.
Delphine's hand grabs my leg, both of us looking down as she reaches up to me.
"Up!" she says.
"What do we say?" Joe asks.
"Peas!"
I grin, reaching down and grabbing her as Joe takes a small step back to give her room.
"Good job," Joe tells her, grinning.
"No!" Willa whines, appearing at our legs as well and looking up. "No Delly! I want mama!"
"Mama!" Delphine says, holding onto my shirt tighter.
"Mommy!" Willa starts to cry, bouncing up and down.
"NO!" Delphine says.
"Willa," Joe starts, trying to pick her up.
"No!" she cries, dodging him and raising her arms to me again. "Mama!"
"I thought you wanted daddy," I tell Willa, holding her hand and caressing the back.
"No! I want you!" she cries, pulling her hand out of mine and raising her arms again.
"Mama," Delphine giggles, swaying back and forth.
