Lamar Kingston//Killa
-----------------------------------Today's finally the day. The day I talk to Jamele and Indigo. I really didn't wanna do this but I have to. "I can help you...if you want." I heard Onika say softly as she touched my forearm. I planted a kiss on her forehead and smiled. "Is cool. You go rest, okay?" I told her. She smiled at me and then walked out of the study.
I sighed and sat on the couch. I scrolled through my contacts until I found the number. 'Indigo'. I dialed the number and on the third ring, the person picked up.
"Hello?" I heard the person ask. It was a male's voice. I knew it was her dad. "Where's Indigo?" I asked. I wasn't here for chit chats. I just wanted to get this over and done with. "Lamar. Is that you?" I heard him say. "Yes. Now where's Indigo?" I asked again. This time getting aggravated. "She's busy." He said. "Okay." I said, ready to hang up but then he spoke. "H-how are you?" He asked. I didn't say anything for a bit. "I'm aight."
"Oh that's nice to know." He answered. "Okay." And I hung up the phone call. I walked out of the study to our room, just to see Onika asleep.
She's been really tired lately. Ever since Saturday, she's been experiencing back pain, body aches and headaches. I fell so sad. My baby is not feeling well. Shit. I walked closer to the bed and covered her body fully with the blanket. I kissed her on the forehead and entered the bathroom. I took a nice, long, cold shower. I really needed it.
I exited the bathroom and she was still sleeping, not that i minded. She looked so cute and peaceful. I got dressed and walked out the room. Just as I got out, I heard my phone ringing. I looked down and saw it was a call from Indigo. I walked into the study and answered the call. "Heard you's was looking for me. Wassup?" She asked. "I need a favour." I said sitting on the chair behind the desk. "Ahhhhhh. Leader of the Black Spades needs my help. What is it?" She said with some sass. I mentally rolled my eyes before I spoke.
"Look I really don't wanna ask this but..." I sighed. "Can you come to LA. Its best we discuss this shit in person." I sighed. "You want me to come to LA? Seriously? What's the catch?" She asked. "No catch. If you help me, I'll be happy to return the favour." I said. She hummed. "How I'm sure you'an tryna kill me?" Of course she would ask that. I mean who wouldn't? Especially of you a powerful gang leader that most people want gone. "Nigga if I wanted you dead, I would've killed you the moment i saw you." I said. It's true tho. If I wanted her dead, I would've killed her a long time ago. Simple.
"Hm, someone think they all that huh?" She asks. I sucked my teeth at her. "Look if you not gon help, just say so caz-" "Hollon now. Who said I ain't finna do it?" She asks. "No one said- ya know what, forget it. I can do this shit on my own." I pulled the phone away ready to hang up. "See you next week." She spoke than hung up. I slump in my chair and sighed. I looked at the time and it was 5:30pm.
I made my way to the kitchen and decided to cook something. My baby is sick and I knew she would like some Jamaican food. I placed all my ingredients on the island and begun preparing the food. I'm making curried goat, oxtail, stewed chicken and rice and peas.
She gon like it fossho.
Once I finish cooking, I went upstairs and to our room to get Onika's water bottle. I accidentally tipped over her hairspray bottle and it caused a loud noise. "Shit." I mumbled. I heard a small chuckle and turned to see Onika awake. I knelt before her and caressed her cheek. "Sorry did I wake you up?" I asked. "No. I was already awake." She said with a small smile. "How you feeling now?"
"Okay I guess. My headache's gone. Just my lower abdomen's kinda starting to hurt." She said lowly. "Shit, you wanna go to the doc-" "No no. Its prolly just a fever." She said trying to sit up right. I helped her and stood up. "Okay but if by Sunday you'an feeling better, I'm dragging you to the doctor." I said walking to the door. "Whatever." She mumbled under her breath. I went to the kitchen and fixed us both a plate of food. And I also refilled her water bottle. I entered the room and saw she was no longer on the bed. I placed the plates on her vanity table. She soon came outta the bathroom with a small blanket wrapped around her body.
"Oh food." She beamed with joy. I knew food would make her feel better. She sat with her back against the headboard. I gave her plate and she instantly dug in. I couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was. "What, why you laughing?" She asked with her mouth stuffed with rice. "nun"
We ate and watched a movie. It felt nice just chilling with my baby. "Did you call her?" I heard her ask. "huh?" I turned to look at her. "Indigo. Did you call her?"
"Yea. While you were sleeping." I answered. "what did she say?" She said with a yawn. "She'll come over...next week." I said. "Oh...and what about Ur dad?" She asked. I frowned at the fact that she called him my dad. He ain't no dad. Fucking pussy ass nigga who left me. She sensed that I became uneasy and apologized. "Is cool. No need to apologize and ion know if he coming. Hope not." I said. I looked at the clock and saw it was now 7pm. "Oh I see. Did you tell your mom... that you know where they are?" She asked. "She already knew. Way before I did. Apparently she bumped into him about two years ago in Walmart. Awkward." I chuckled. I remember her telling me how she almost slapped him because he asked if they could go out for coffee. Shit was hilarious.
"Dayum. How about your dad, sis and Ash?" She asked. "They know too. My dad didn't say much. Was just like if he sees him approach us, he finna put a bullet between his goddamn eye balls." I smiled. Although Kobi wasn't my biological dad, he still was a great one and treated me like I'm his blood child. "Lol."
I gathered our plates and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I put the dishes in the dishwasher and walked back to our room. "Oh here's he." Onika said on the phone. My phone. "Huh?" "Its Oscar." She handed me my phone and walked into the bathroom.
"You already call her?" Omar asked me. "Yea, Today." I said. "What she say?" He asked. "she's coming next week." I shrug. "Aight aight. Just asked incase if yo dumb ass forgot." He chuckled. "Mane, fuck off." I grinned. There was some silence before he spoke. "Be woke. Stay focused." He said.
"Yea, yea." I said. We said our byes and I hung up. Phew I'm tired.
