It was common knowledge that ghouls prioritize ghouls of their kind, over others. So a water ghoul will like another water ghoul more than a fire ghoul or like that. That didn't mean ghouls couldn't fall in love with ghouls of another element, it was just as not easy, since the ghoul instincts didn't kick in as fast. For the ghouls in the ministry, that meant mating wasn't as easy. Normally, there was only ghoul of each kind. Yeah, sometimes ghouls stayed in the ministry even after they stopped playing in the band, but not always. Aether though, played in the band for a long time, and as his time had come to admit that he couldn't perform on stage anymore, Copia felt bad to send him back to the pit. The papa knew that Aether had made great friends during his stay, and he couldn't bear kicking him out, so Aether was allowed to stay, to everyone's delight.
Now, it was time to summon a new ghoul as a substitute for Aether, because eventually the band would be back on tour. The retired quintessence ghoul was the only one who was with Copia in the summoning room, as everyone else was busy with their daily tasks. Aether was glad not having to do these anymore, or at least way less than before. He stood in the back, while Copia stood right in front of the circle drawn onto the ground, as he didn't want to interrupt the pope while he chanted the summoning spell. The room was dimly lit, merely by a few candles, and everyone who wasn't used to this type ceremony would've been scared like little child. But Aether was used to it, he had been at a lot of summonings before, but still this one felt different. He couldn't quite put his finger on why, maybe it was just the fact that he was only one there to watch, he couldn't tell.
After another couple of minutes where Copia's smooth voice echoed through the room, the circle on the ground lit up in flames, and the quintessence ghoul could watch a creature, a ghoul just like he was emerge from the floor. The sight wasn't especially new for Aether, and he simply watched with some interest as he tried to catch a glimpse at this new ghoul's look. But as soon as the ghoul had completely compounded and was sitting there on the cold, stone floor, a little shaking and completely vulnerable, something hit Aether. For a hot second, he felt like all air was knocked out of his lungs, while his brain was filled with images of the new quintessence ghoul. He looked absolutely beautiful.
It was as if there was an immediate connection between them. Aether could swear he could almost feel the confusion and anxiety the younger ghoul was experiencing. It felt odd, but something about him made his mind go all mushy all of a sudden.
He suddenly snapped out of it as he heard Copia talk to him, explaining who he was and where he was. The ghoul turned out to be a pretty young, and gentle ghoul with the name Phantom. Aether introduced himself as well, but he quickly excused himself and made it for his leave. He would've loved to stay longer, but he somehow thought it was better if he left. His mind was still swimming with images of the new ghoul, and he could feel his body begin to heat up. By the time he made it to his own room, he had a throbbing boner. He couldn't understand why he got a hard-on from the mere sight and the exchange of a with words with a different quintessence ghoul, but he decided not to question it, and instead just to take care of it. He sat in his bed, his eyes closed and a couple hushed, lewd sounds escaping him, his mind still occupied with Phantom.
The next couple of weeks weren't much better. Phantom got taken into the pack well, and everyone got along great with him. Aether too, but he ended up with a boner in his bed way too often for his liking. He could tell something was between them, and Phantom knew it too, but neither of them knew how to act on it. There was a connection, but they felt embarrassed because they didn't even know each other. Their ghoul instincts simply got ahead of them. They managed to keep it at bay, having normal conversations like the others too, ignoring the signals and signs. Both of them jerked off with the thought of the other in their mind far too often, but what they didn't know, didn't bother them, or so they thought. They would get friends first, before they would engage in something more

FanfictionA bunch of the ghost oneshots I've written about the nameless ghouls for the band ghost :) These are mainly ships about the ghouls, and sometimes with one of the papas, but I barely write any xReader lol. And also, this is just about the characters...
