First 'x Reader' oneshot, I know this book is about ships, but I thought I'd give it try :3
(also xPapa, plus angst to fluff <3)
(I also didn't read it again, so there might be some things that don't make sense, ignore that 😭)

y/n felt like they had moved from one hell straight to another. The pit was the most horrible place to be at. The tortures screams of the lost souls, the feeling of always being watched and the thought of making one wrong move and you're practically dead haunted them there every second. And they were all alone down there too. Just a kit, and already all on their own. How is a six year old ghoul child supposed to survive down there? Near to impossible, but there wasn't anyone who cares anyways. Other ghouls were busy with surviving on their own, there was no time or space for a child. y/n had learned to accept it. They accepted that no one wanted them, that no one cared about them.

The day they've been summoned was the day they had felt hope for the first time. It was an odd feeling, somehow a little warm and fuzzy in their chest. There was a small glint of light in their eyes, combined with the absolute anxiety as they looked around the summoning chamber for the first time. But that flicker quickly expired as they saw the near to disgusted look on that weird creatures face. They didn't even know where exactly they were. Everything was huge and looked shiny. Something y/n had never ever seen before. They were scared to see someone not looking even remotely close to a ghoul, and how they found out a couple days later, that creature was a human. They didn't know what it was, but they didn't dare asking either. Right after their summoning, she got a disappointed look from that human, and then they were left alone in there. It felt like days passed (actually just an hour or two) until they had been dragged out of the room and into a, surprisingly, big and cozy bedroom. Also something they had never seen before.

y/n was scared, but they figured it couldn't be much worse than hell. Well, who thought it could be? They weren't that scared of dying anymore, because after three days they were still breathing and alive. But they were still ignored. Unwanted and tossed to the side. Quite literally. y/n had always had understanding that no one helped them, because others were fighting for themselves down in the pit. But now on the topside, they hadn't seen anything actually dangerous that the others could be fighting. So why were they ignored? What had they done this time to be ignored? They hadn't seen any ghouls yet, and it frightened them. At this point, they had accepted that they would rather just stay in that room, never spoken to, never looked at. Because each time they left the room to try and explore, they got dirty looks. That's when they tried to tell themselves that it was still better than the pit itself.

Days later y/n was finally taken out by someone who introduced themselves as Sister Mary.  y/n liked Sister Mary. She had a warm smile, and a sweet voice. She showed y/n around the ministry, and explained them everything. It was the first time y/n had met someone like her. But then Mary brought her to the ghouls. She said something about that y/n will feel better around them, as they were their kind. y/n was so excited at first. They had almost lost hope in finding creatures of their kind, but as they entered the ghouls den, and said goodbye to sister Mary, there was an undeniable light in their eyes. The place was huge and looked cozy. There was a couple of sofas, a big fire place, and something that ghoul's would call a nest. y/n couldn't wait to get cozy in that nest with some other ghouls.

y/n slowly walked around the room, looking at all the different things. The ghoul's den consisted of a huge living room, then a small adjacent kitchen, and connected to the living room was also a hallway that led to many different rooms. The bedrooms for each ghoul. y/n was walking around with huge eyes, finally not feeling too out of place. They hadn't seen another ghoul yet, but they were expecting them to simply accept them.
