💗 Sodo x Rain - Ember

So, in this one Ember is the child of Rain and Sodo. Yes, both are men, no, we don't question how that works, thanks 😃👍

"Ouch!" Swiss exclaimed, swirling around, only to see the little ghoulette, Ember behind him. She wore a cheeky grin, letting go of Swiss' tail she had just bitten and ran off. Swiss huffed, a small grin making its way to his face as he chased after her. He loved Ember, even if she was a cheeky little devil that for some reason loved to bite into tails. They had all tried to explain to Ember that it hurt, that she should stop that, but she wouldn't listen. Not even to her fathers Rain and Sodo. She giggled as she ran down the hallway, straight into the living room. She walked up to Rain, hiding behind him. "Daddy!" she exclaimed, making the water ghoul look down to her. "Mhm? What's wrong sweetheart?" "Swiss is chasing me!" she replied, pointing to the door that Swiss just walked through.

Rain looked up and shot Swiss a glare. He was very protective of his daughter, and he didn't like when someone intimidated her. "Hey, c'mon! She bit my tail. Again" he replied as he reached the two of them. Rain let out a sigh and bent down, picking Ember up and setting the little girl onto his hip. "Is that true?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Ember looked between Swiss and her father, clearly finding comfort in the embrace. Then she shook her head, making Swiss groan in frustration. "I swear man, she did" Swiss protested, and Rain just sighed again. "It's your word against hers" he said with a shrug, and a look that clearly said 'I believe you'. Rain just wanted to be nice to his little daughter.

Swiss sighed, crossed his arms and looked at the little girl, and then back up at Rain. "She can't keep doing that. One day she'll seriously hurt one of us" he said, and Rain nodded. He was aware of that. Sodo was too. They just hadn't figured out how they could convince her. She was still so young, only four. She was just having fun, and not listening to anything that forbid her to have that fun. But the water ghoul nodded at Swiss, giving a silent 'I will talk with her', before he spoke up again. "I know..." he said with a sigh, and moved a strand of hair away from Ember's face, who smiled brightly at the action. She clearly didn't know what she had done yet.

A few hours later, Ember was ready to go to bed, but of course she waited for one of her dads to tuck her in. She wouldn't sleep without it. She sat in her bed, her feet dangling off the edge as she sat there. A few minutes later, not only Rain, but also Sodo walked in. The little ghoulettes face brightened, a huge smile on her face. "Dad! Daddy!" she exclaimed, her feet now excitedly kicking the air. "Hey there sweetheart" Rain said with a gentle smile and walked over, crouching down in front of her. Sodo stood a few feet away, watching the two with a fond smile. He was not as affectionate as Rain. He never was, but he still loved his daughter very much.

She was clearly excited to see both her dads, not yet knowing why exactly they were both there. Rain looked over to Sodo, who nodded at him. "Ember... before you go to sleep, we have to talk to you" Rain started carefully, his face and tone growing more serious. The child tilted her head to the side, clearly confused as she looked first at Rain and then to Sodo. Sodo cleared his throat and walked over, sitting down on the bed next to Ember. "Yes, there's something we had spoken about with you before, let's say, a habit of yours" he continued.

Ember only got more and more confused. "What habit?" she asked, and Rain and Sodo exchanged another look. Her voice, so small and cute could always make their heart melt. But they couldn't let that get to them. Not today. "You really like to play pranks, don't you? Not only on us, but on the others as well" Sodo said, and Rain hummed, "And you especially love to bite into our tails" he added. The little ghoulette's serious face immediately broke down into a wide smile and a few giggles. "Yeah! It's funny!" She said happily, but her fathers just sighed and shook their heads. "It's not, Ember" Sodo said and placed a gentle hand onto her shoulder. 'Why not, dad?" "Because it's painful. Look, now your teeth are not hurting too much, but they will grow, and before you know it you could cause some serious damage" the fire ghoul explained.

The little girls smile faltered, looking at Sodo for a while, and then at Rain. "Is that true, daddy? Serious damage?" She asked, and the water ghoul nodded in response. "Yes. The others already talked to us, and said you need to stop. It's not as funny as you think, sweetheart" Ember hummed and looked down to her lap, chewing on her bottom lip as she thought things over. Her fathers stayed were they were, studying her and exchanging a look every now and then. "I'm sorry" she then suddenly said, "I didn't know... I don't wanna cause damage..." she mumbled, clearly looking guilty. She thought what she had done was way worse than it actually was. She was even on the verge of crying.

Rain immediately went into protective mode as she saw her lip quivering and her voice slightly shaking. "Hey... love, it's alright. You didn't cause much harm yet. Just stop doing it from now on" he said with a soft smile, gently ruffling her hair. Ember sniffed a little and nodded, but she didn't seem too convinced. Sodo sighed and pulled her close to his side, rubbing her shoulder. "It's okay, darling. You didn't do anything wrong. Not yet" he reassured her, and she nodded, her small body shaking a little but slowly calming down. They continued to tell her reassurances and sweet words. She clearly thought she had caused some serious damage already and had hurt the others, but her father's words helped her.

"Dad? Daddy?" she then asked after a moment, and both her fathers hummed, silently questioning what she wanted to ask. "I don't wanna sleep alone..." she mumbled, hiding herself in Sodo's chest. Both ghouls exchanged a look, fond smiles on their faces. "Grab your favorite plushy, you can stay with us tonight" Rain replied, and Ember looked over again, her eyes lightning up in happiness in relief. She then looked over her bed and her plushies before she pointed at a small bat. "I want that one!" she exclaimed, and Sodo let out a chuckle before he reached over and handed it to her. "Ready?" he asked, and the little girl nodded. Sodo stood up, still holding his daughter, and Rain got up as well. Together they walked out of the room and over into the ghoul's bedroom.

Normally, they didn't stay with Ember at night, but tonight she clearly needed it. The poor girl thought she had done something horrible, and she needed the reassurance and comfort. Sodo sat down on the bed with her, while Rain got ready for bed, and once he was one, they switched and Sodo got ready while the water ghoul looked after her. Once both her father's had finished, they climbed under the covers. Ember was laying between her fathers, snuggled up to both of them and her plushy, clearly content and happy now. "Love you dad... love you daddy..." she then mumbled, obviously already sleepy. "We love you too sweetie" Rain said and kissed the top of her head.

Sodo hummed in agreement. "Yeah, we love you too. You don't have to worry. We don't love you any less just because of those little pranks" he reassured her, and Ember visibly relaxed. It was clear that she thought she had broken her father's trust, and that they loved her less now. But what her dad had told her, clearly assured her of something different. She let out a yawn and turned onto her side, snuggling closer to Rain and nestling against his chest. He smiled, holding her close while the fire ghoul shuffled closer as well and wrapped an arm about the both of them in a protective embrace. The little family fell asleep together, snuggled up and content.
