Mountain had been a drummer since years. Since that time when Terzo had still been papa. He had always done a good job, he had always had fun and he had never seriously messed up. He had always been one of the most focused ghouls of them, but recently, his attention seemed to be always somewhere else. And just thinking about it made him feel ridiculous. From his place behind the drums, he had a great view on the whole stage, and the whole band. And that from the back. And recently, he just couldn't keep his gaze off of Rain. Rain and that fucking sexy backside of his. Mountain was simply distracted by the way his hips swayed so very lightly when he played his bass. Or even worse, when he bent down to pick up his pick if he ended up dropping it. 

It sometimes caused him to actually mess up his timing, or to play his notes incorrectly. And at this point it was impossible to hide it. It wasn't much like Mountain to mess up, but by now everyone was a little confused, maybe even suspicious, why he was struggling so much lately. The earth ghoul always tried to brush it off, saying he hadn't gotten much sleep, or that he didn't feel too well. Just anything to make him feel a little less stupid. But he could tell that no one bought his stupid excuses. They were very poor after all.

Today wasn't any different. The band was at rehearsal like usual, eight pm, but Copia wasn't there. Like normal. Today was the instrumental rehearsal, and only the ghouls were there. They had played for a little over ten minutes, when Mountain's gaze was back on Rain's ass. He couldn't keep himself from looking, staring at those fucking gorgeous thighs and hips as they swayed with the music. And then he suddenly dropped his drumstick. That was a whole new level of messing up. His face flushed and he quickly bent down to pick it up. When he straightened up again, he felt everyone's eyes on him, with raised eyebrows.

"Seriously, what the fuck is wrong recently?" Sodo asked, and Mountain just cleared his throat, shifting nervously on his seat. Swiss raised an eyebrow, "you okay, man? We're actually all wondering what's going on." "It's okay..." Mountain muttered, "I'm just a little... distracted. I will do better." The fire and multi ghoul exchanged a look, but shrugged, "alright, if you say so. Just tell us if something is going on." Mountain nodded and stared down at his drums. He felt Rain's gaze on him; curious and worried. It took everything the earth ghoul had not to look over and fall in love all over again.

But just a couple seconds into the song, Mountain messed up again. His rhythm was completely off, and there was no way the others could properly play the song like that. A few groans erupted among the ghouls, and Mountain just sighed deeply and hid his face in his hands. He was frustrated with himself, and he did feel a little embarrassed too. "I don't think it's any use today... whatever is up with Mountain, it makes rehearsal impossible." Mountain looked up as he heard Aether say that, and a light pink dusted his cheeks. How he could he possibly mess up that badly, just because Rain looked so good? It was so fucking ridiculous. 

"Wait..." he tried, but the words died on his tongue. What was he saying here? He had nothing to say to defend himself. "It's okay, Mountain. Don't worry about it. We all have rough times every now and then... we will try tomorrow again," Swiss replied, a gentle and reassuring smile gracing his lips. Mountain didn't dare to say anything. He just nodded in response, and was grateful for his friends understanding. They would probably think differently if they knew the actual reasons for him being always distracted, but they really didn't have to know about it. He would just work on it and never let them know about the real truth. He would be able to save himself from a lot of teasing that way.
