There were mixed feelings among the little group of ghouls. While most of them - especially Sodo and Phantom - were very keen on going out for a drink after another successful show, Rain simply wanted to crawl under a warm blanket and cuddle up against Mountain's side for the rest of the day. And Mountain could tell. He could always tell when Rain had enough - even when the water ghoul didn't say it out loud. The slight sag in his shoulders after the encore, the way he kept to the edge of conversations backstage, the silence as the others were making plans to hit a nearby bar. He didn't need Rain to spell it out loud. So when they finally arrived at the hotel, Mountain decided to stay behind as well. He didn't mind missing out on a few drinks if it meant that he could stay with the tired water ghoul. He was all he really wanted anyways.

The two had went to their shared hotel room when the other's had gone out - aside from them, only Papa had stayed as well, claiming he wanted to get some work done. Mountain was already sitting in bed, watching as Rain changed into some more comfortable clothes - respectfully, of course. The blanket was already moved to the side, his arms open in an invitation for the water ghoul to curl up against him whenever he wanted to. Despite knowing Mountain good enough to be aware that he wasn't so keen on going to hit a club either, Rain still couldn't help but feel guilty about keeping him at the hotel. He didn't like restricting him from things he might want to do. "Sorry... I've just... got no energy to socialize right now..." he muttered as he finally crawled into the bed and sat in Mountain's lap like it was second nature.

Mountain didn't an explanation or a justification for his feelings. He simply draped the blanket over them and enveloped the smaller ghoul in a tight hug. He never minded him being clingy either. He never did when Rain needed his quiet like this. "I know, droplet. Don't worry. I've got you know."

The two of them lay in bed, the air holding a simple and comfortable tension. The silence wasn't suffocating, it was rather like a breath of fresh air, like a reassurance that just laying and soaking up each other's presence was fine. The water ghoul lay on Mountain's chest, his body almost completely draped over him. The earth ghoul could tell that he was overstimulated and anxious, because even though everything seemed to be so quiet and calm, Rain was still buzzing. He wasn't sure what it was exactly, but the earth ghoul guessed that it was about a note he missed during or show, or maybe it was just the tour pressure in general. Sometimes it got too much for Rain. He loved it, yes, it was the sole thing he was summoned for, and yet it got too much for him to handle, and that's when he just had to lay down and detach from everything.

Mountain's hand was gently stroking Rain's hair, holding him close. There was an unspoken understanding between them. Sometimes it almost scared Rain when he realized that he didn't have to say it for Mountain to know what was up - but most of the time, he was just very very grateful for the silent support. He was his anchor, his rock - always there, always present, always standing tight. "You were amazing tonight," Mountain's deep, slightly rough voice echoed through the silence. He spoke quietly, but in the silence of the night, it appeared louder than it was. To Rain, it still felt like a warm blanket was wrapped around his heart and soul. Mountain was not only keeping him warm from the outside, but too often even from the inside.

Rain sighed against his neck, fingers twisting into Mountain's shirt like he wanted to melt into him. "Really...? I thought I messed up..." "You didn't," Mountain assured, placing a kiss on the crown of his hair, "but even if you had - I'd still think you're brilliant." A flush spread over the water ghoul's cheeks, and he nuzzled further into Mountain's neck to try and hide it. Something like a whine escaped him, though the sound was too muffled to properly make out.
