The ministry was pretty much chaos pure. Another ritual was basically just around the corner, but the band had a huge problem. Aether just had a pretty bad accident on the last ritual. He wasn't able to walk, at least for a couple of weeks, maybe months. Copia hadn't had a night of actual sleep since it happened. He was worried for Aether, of course, but he was also worried for the band and therefore also for the ministry. He wasn't sure what to do. Aether couldn't play, but summoning a new ghoul would be just as risky. They didn't have much time, only about two weeks. That wasn't enough time to get all the songs down, even if Sodo, Aether and Swiss would help a new ghoul. But then again, what choice did the papa actually have?

It was exactly 13 days before the ritual when Copia stood with a few of his ghouls in the summoning chamber. His voice echoed through the room as he chanted the spell for a quintessence ghouls summoning. Not many were with the pope in the summoning room, because everyone was busy. They still had to practice for the ritual themselves after all. Eventually, as the ritual proceeded, a new ghoul formed in the middle of the summoning circle. The introduction was awfully short cut. y/n only had the chance to say their name, but they didn't receive any explanation of what happened. Papa had to be somewhere else too soon to have some small talk with the new ghoul. So instead he left, leaving y/n with Swiss and Rain, who were the only ones with him in the summoning chamber.

They were still shaken up. And the lack of introduction didn't make it any better. But one good thing was that the two ghouls who were with y/n were nice. They took good care of them. They gave the new ghoul a blanket, speaking softly to them and reassuring them that things were fine. They were led to a room, which they found to be quite comfy. They would definitely be fine here, in comparison to the depth of hell. "We don't have any clothes for you yet, sorry. Normally this place isn't so hectic," Rain explained with a sheepish smile. y/n smiled a little and waved it off. As confused as they were, they were just as happy not to be in hell anymore.

"Alright so... this place you're at, we call it the ministry. You're topside, and there are humans controlling everything," Swiss began to explain, while Rain sat at y/n's side. Not too close to not make them feel uncomfortable though. The new ghoul looked up, their interest piqued. The multi ghoul smiled one of his toothy grins, "yeah. But they're cool. They let us live in peace and let us do basically whatever we want." y/n nodded in understanding. That didn't sound too bad. In fact, it sounded fucking great. They maybe weren't too fond of them yet, merely because they didn't know much about humans yet. But those two were ghouls too, nice ones at that, so y/n trusted them with what they said.

"And in this ministry we have a band, to spread the name of our dark lord. Us ghouls are here to play the instruments," Rain explained further. Swiss then piped up again, "exactly. And now the reason you were summoned... well, our quintessence ghoul, Aether, had a really bad accident. He can't walk or move much at all. That's why we needed help from another quint. And that's where it's your part. We need you to play on the concert in two weeks!" y/n paused. Two weeks? A concert? "And what... instrument?" "Guitar. Rhythm," Rain sighed, "it sounds like a lot of pressure... and- yeah maybe you have a lot responsibility, but take it easy. We will show you how to do it, just keep calm."

y/n did as they told them. They met the other ghouls that same day, a bit later when they had calmed down and processed everything that had happened that day. The others were all just as nice, and y/n felt most welcomed. But the next day, rehearsals immediately started. At first, y/n had been somewhat excited and somewhat scared. And rehearsals were stressful. The new quintessence ghoul had noticed what was required of them. And even if they didn't want to, they could only panic. The human which had summoned y/n and had introduced himself as 'Papa Emeritus the fourth' (y/n was very happy that they were allowed to say Copia) had reminded them often enough how important it was that everything went great. That y/n had to give their best.
