Dom: Rain
Sub: Perpetua

I was really exploring the persona of our new Papa with this one, hehe :) it's also a really long one!

Perpetua still felt out of place at the ministry, even after a couple months of staying there, and it didn't get much better out on tour. The ghouls have been distant. Always respectful, yes, but not close. Perpetua's presence still felt heavy and different to them. They didn't joke with him like they did with Copia, they didn't bump shoulders and didn't eat dinner with him. The new papa had often laid awake at night, tossing and turning as he thought about it.

He didn't quite fit in. Being sent away as nothing more than a baby, forced away from his mother, father and twin brother, he was forced to grow up strictly christian. All his life he had hated what came with that religion, and he had always been told that he was in the wrong for being 'different' - that he was not worthy of god's love. He never wanted god's love anyways, and yet, just to fit in, he obeyed the rules, obeyed the rituals and rites. He had renounced on pleasure, wether it was physically or mentally, just to receive a little bit of grace and love, rather than pure hate. How could he have known that it was never him who was in the wrong? It wasn't him who was weird. Here, at the ministry, they did things just like he wanted, how he had always wished things could go. But after so many years of suffering from the oppressive church, it was almost like he was brain washed into thinking that the very real, very human desires he now felt, were wrong.

The only ghoul who really understood him to some extend was Haze - the one ghoulette he had summoned himself. She was summoned by him, connected to him in a way that was instinctive - but he quickly realized that also she needed to get in touch with the rest of the pack and to find her place within in the ministry, leaving him feeling alone and unwanted all over again. Only one of Copia's ghouls was different though. Rain, the water ghoul, was naturally more empathetic - he didn't seem to really try with it, he just treated his new papa like he was a person, rather than the others who treated him like he wasn't really there. Rain never asked him to smile, never demanded conversation. He just offered a warm look, a passing touch on the shoulder. Small things. To someone else it might've not been a lot - but to Perpetua it felt like a lifeline.

They were now a couple shows into his first tour. Since leaving the ministry and living out on the road, things had changed - not in the bands dynamic, not really, but for Papa personally. The adrenaline he felt before shows was such a new sensation, coursing through his veins, hot and electrifying. He found himself wanting something he had craved long ago, as a teenager, but had never allowed himself to feel after. Lust and need. The feelings were cursing through him in a messy cocktail, fogging up his brain. He wasn't sure who he could ask, who he could turn to and open up to. He had often thought about simply asking Haze - but it felt weird. She wouldn't know what exactly he felt since she was from a different sex. That barely left him with one option - the water ghoul.

Rain was still buzzing with adrenaline and excitement from the last ritual. He was walking through the backstage area, a cold bottle of water clutched in his hand as he made his way outside the venue. He was just about to climb into the bus, when suddenly he heard a voice from behind him, calling out his name. "Rain!" It was Phantom, who was just catching up with him, a little out of breath, his face still flushed with the heat from the stage. "Mhm? What's up?" he asked, tilting his head to the side in curiosity. "Papa... he said he wanted to see you before you head to bed." Rain's eyebrows furrowed, the gears turning his head as he tried to think of the reason. "Did he-" "Nope, I have no clue what he wanted. Richie told me." With a sigh, Rain rubbed his temple and nodded. He flashed Phantom a smile, "alright, thanks for telling me, bug. Good night."
