ZORA'S POV
WHEN I woke up the morning after the festival day, Naya's head was tucked under my chin. We were lying on the side, her body curled into mine and our hands clasped over her chest.
The slow rhythm of her breathing told me she was still sleeping. I took advantage of the opportunity to just enjoy the serenity of the moment. Light was peeking through the not-properly closed blinds, illuminating the bedroom and more importantly, Naya, with the morning glow of the sun. I hated mornings, but if every day started like this, it'd be a lot more tolerable to wake up.
Naya was in love with me, with me! Her words kept playing on repeat in my head, eliciting a smitten smile from me. I'd hardly stopped grinning since she told me.
Snuggling closer, I shut my eyes and let out a content sigh. Yeah, I could definitely get used to this.
After about 20 minutes of lying there with my arms around Naya, she started to stir. Letting out an adorable yawn, she craned her neck to the side, her drowsy eyes meeting mine.
"Hi," she murmured with a little smile that awakened a strong desire within me to kiss her. Figuring I probably had morning breath, I settled for a peck on her forehead.
"Hi," I breathed.
She shifted so her entire body was facing me, her arm draping over me and pulling me closer. It didn't seem like she had any intentions of getting up anytime soon, and neither did I. I couldn't think of a single thing more important than this moment right now. The steady rise and fall of her chest. Her breath fanning against my neck. Her hand skimming the bare skin under my shirt. It was all so perfect. It was everything I'd never realized I'd wanted.
Not feeling like we were close enough, a sentiment I shared, Naya's leg caged me in until she was fully enveloping me. My skin tingled where her bare legs touched mine. At some point, before we'd gone to bed, Naya had changed into an oversized T-shirt and a pair of shorts that did little to cover her lower half. The duvet was somewhere forgotten in a corner, so when I glanced down and saw her toned leg around me, I swallowed.
The hand I'd had around her waist progressed lower until my fingers grazed her exposed thigh, eliciting a satisfying shudder from Naya. I let it rest right below the hem of her shorts, giving her thigh a gentle squeeze. When I felt her breathing pick up its pace, the corners of my mouth lifted into a subtle smile.
It quickly dropped when her lips brushed against the base of my throat. My grip on her got tighter as her lips moved tauntingly slowly up my throat, barely skimming the skin yet making my every nerve-ending alert. The temperature in the room suddenly felt like it'd been cranked up.
Naturally, my head tilted back, exposing my throat fully to her. She left a kiss right where my pulse was and it jumped. Based on the way I could feel her lips smile against me, I knew she'd noticed. Her mouth continued its journey up to my jaw and when I finally thought she'd properly kiss me, her lips were suddenly off me, along with the rest of her body. The loss of her heat made me shiver and I watched confused as she got up from the bed.
"What are you doing?" I questioned, my arms slipping around her waist to pull her back.
She gently pried my arms away from her, leaving me baffled enough that I let her walk away, toward the bathroom. "I'm going to brush my teeth."
