NAYA'S POV

THE DAY everyone had been going on about had finally come: Prom. Mai, Mara, Zora, and I were gathered at our place. It was always the go-to getting-ready spot. We were almost ready to leave: Mai was in the middle of putting jewellery on, her makeup and dress already on, while Mara was finishing up her makeup.

I was sat by the vanity desk, Zora in-between my thighs with a liquid blush in her hand. My hands were holding the back of her thighs, which she kept complaining was distracting. Naturally, that only made me more inclined to not move them. I didn't hike them up further, not wanting to distract her enough to mess up my makeup.

"You look so cute while you're all focused," I whispered, knowing Mai would yell at me for flirting otherwise. She liked to say that we rubbed our 'coupleness' in her face too much. It wasn't like we made out or even kissed much in front of our friends, she was just dramatic.

Zora almost placed the dot of blush in the wrong spot when I said that, eliciting a chuckle from me. "It's like you want me to fuck up your look. May I remind you we need to leave in half an hour?"

I smirked a little. "Fine, I'll be good. But it's not my fault you still get all worked up over a little flirting."

She raised a challenging brow. "Oh? I'm the one who gets worked up, huh? Hmm, we'll see about that."

Her comment made me a little nervous. I knew damn well how easily Zora could make me flustered. She would surely make me eat my words.

I reached for the glass of water on the desk, suddenly feeling a bit parched. When I was in the middle of swallowing a gulp of water, Zora leaned close enough that her breath was fanning over my ear.

"The things I would do to you if we were alone right now...You haven't even put your dress on yet and I already want to take it off," she said in a low tone.

As if on cue, my face heated up and I started choking on my water.

"Who's the flustered one now?" She taunted.

"Just get back to the makeup," I grumbled, averting my eyes because the eye contact only made me more flustered.

Zora chuckled, but complied.

Once she'd finished my makeup, I followed her into the walk-in closet where our dresses were stored. Mai made a remark about how she better not hear any noises coming from inside the closet, earning a smack on the arm delivered by me.

After retrieving the dresses and handing me mine, she stripped out of her clothes. I forgot for a moment that I was also supposed to be getting undressed, too entranced by the sight of her. She caught me looking and sent a teasing smirk my way. I swallowed, turning around to change out of my clothes as well. Zora didn't even bother pretending like she wasn't looking and the weight of her gaze on me forced me to take a deep breath to keep myself in check.

"You are way too hot for your own good," Zora said as I turned around to face her.

"Stop eye-fucking me when our friends are right outside."

Zora chuckled. "Says you."

She took one step forward as if on instinct, then shook her head and retreated, reaching for her dress. I put mine on as well before helping Zora lace hers up.
