Chapter 24

Prom was in a few days and we were all trying to find something to wear. Lilly and I went to the mall to find us a cute dress to wear, Adrian and Ryan were there with a few of their friends along with both our parents. Mom was trying to help with much she can and of course Lucifer wanted to tag along with us since they're dating.
When we went into one of the dress stores, Lilly found some cute dresses that she thought would look nice on us but I wasn't feeling them. I wanted to feel special, to feel wanted. To show off what I have even though I'm not skinny. But I ain't fat either. I'm thick and I have the curves to show it. As I was going around, I have two dresses. They were hot, but were they hot enough.

"I see you finally found something?" Lucifer said walking up behind me.
"I think but I don't know." I had said.

He picked up the main one that I liked. It was red with a split down the left side of the dress and a split in the middle up top to show off the girls a little. He held it up against me admiring it.

"I think my son would love this on you." Lucifer said with a smile.
"Yea?" I said.
"Yes, if you have it show it off. I know what my son likes in a woman and that's curves and "big girls" up top." Lucifer said with a chuckle. I blushed a little. "Hey, don't be embarrassed about it. He's just like me with the girls. He knows what he wants and he gets it, well except getting it sorta. He's still working to that point."
"Can I tell you something?" I said.
"Anything sweetie."
"I know your with my mom and all but I feel like Adrian is forbidden for me. I have a huge crush on him but he's like a brother to me now."
"Honey, if anything happens between you two, me and your mother would talk and we would end it for y'all."
"No, I don't want that. You make her happy since my father and I don't want that to mess up. I've never seen her this happy ever since what happened. I just wish, we knew who how he died or even who killed him. The cops never went into details about it and I know it hurts her that she never got closure over that. But with you, she's changing for the better good and I love that. So please, don't ever lose her. Ever."

When I told him that, he looked over at his son then my mother and smiled. He knew what I was talking about and I know he feels the exact same way towards her. They love each other even though it's only been a few months but for them it feels like it's been a life time.

"So I'll get the dress, now just help me find something close to it for Lilly." I said going through the dresses.

I saw him look over at Lilly for a good hard minute then went through the dresses as well until he pulled one out that looked close to mine.

"Here, it will hug her just like yours will. Ryan adores her very much. I thought he would never find love after what happened."
"What happened?"
"A few years ago, he was with this girl they were friends since birth and well when he had the nerve to ask her out, a few weeks later there was an accident. They were coming home from school and some bad people had attacked and killed her. He doesn't like talking about it much but I know how he feels. Losing the love of your life, it kills you inside until you just want to be killed yourself but he's strong and Adrian and Billy helped him through it. He was 16 and she was 15, they say age is just a number and it is but when you find that spark of love, the age doesn't matter anymore. It's what you feel in your heart, the love, the passion, the desire to be with the one."
"It's what you felt when you lost Adrian's mother and now you're with my mom, you can be whole again." I said.
"Yes, exactly."
"Thank you. I'll give this to Lilly and I won't tell her."
"You're welcome and thank you. He needs to be the one to tell her. After all 2nd chance mates, don't rarely show up but if you think it's there and want it go for it."
"2nd chance mates?" I said.
"It's just a thing where I'm from. I'm old school."

I nodded.
Was he trying to tell me about them being wolves? Because mates are their way of saying they're one and only love.
I walked over to Lilly while she was walking with my mom, looking for dresses. I handed her hers and she was in love with it. And when I showed her mine, her jaw dropped at how gorgeous my dress was. But when my mother saw the prices, she shook her head as Lucifer came over and handed her his black card.

"Get the dresses dear. It's prom and it's there only chance as seniors to go." He told her.
"But they're too much."
"I don't care. The girls need a little spunk, a little glamorous in their life. And these are the dresses. Now go find shoes for them." He told Lilly and me.

We both squealed and ran over to the shoe area after we handed mom our dresses. As I was looking for heels, I looked over and saw mom kiss Lucifer. I could tell she was madly in love with him and even though he's a lycan, I'm glad he's with her.
Lilly came over to me with some heels. She found the perfect pair for me. They were red glitter pumps and Lilly showed me hers red pumps with a strap and a little keychain diamond on it. When we were done, we found my mother and Lucifer and showed them. My mom was wowed but was gonna tell us no when Lucifer grabbed his card from my mom and handed it to us along with the dresses.

"Luc, it's too much."
"Care-bear, let them be girls."
"Oh, fine." My mom said then looked at us. "Go pay for them before I change my mind. And tell Lucifer thank you."
"Thank you, Lucifer." We both said.
As we went to go pay for our stuff, I heard mom tell Lucifer. "You're a good dad towards Cris."
"I try to. I always wanted a daughter but my wife died before we could try to." He told her.

I thought, even if Adrian get together, he still have me as that. The best daughter and Luna he could ever ask for.
