The Forbidden Alpha

Chapter 35

After catching up from me being out for about a day thanks to some jackasses. I finally have some little time to myself. The doctor had said I was fine but to be sure, he didn't want me to go anywhere for right now. But I will be soon and that would be tomorrow because I have to find my family and have them teach me the art of witchcraft. I need to be ready and be the most powerful witch that I'm supposed to be. At least that's what my father had said.
As I sat in my room doing through the stuff that I had bought and the stuff that I brought from home. I organized everything in my room so my room won't be all cluttered with my shit. After that was done, I packed what I wanted to take with me to New Orleans and even was gonna be an extra bag but I could buy one there if I have too. Because even though I'm there for certain purposes, I would like to take in the sights and do things and buy things. I mean I have some money put up but Adrian can probably be a gentleman and offer to buy me things.
Only will hope.
It was 3am and I'm still awake but I guess it's because I've slept for a very long time. I don't even know if I can even sleep because of what had happened and if I do, will I have that crazy dream again. And speaking of dream, who the hell spoke to me. Was it the moon goddess again?
I walked over to the window, opened it up as wide as it can go and climbed out and climbed onto the roof. I slowly sat down and looked up at the stars and the moon. It was twilight out, beautiful night sky the clouds barely hiding the moon. Just right.
I actually like it here. Here you can see everything. Back home you can't. It was too bright out at night and too noisy. Here it's quiet. Not too quiet but it's quiet.
A few guards were out patrolling the pack lands. Some were changing shifts, I'm guessing because some were shifting and running towards the trees and some were coming out of the trees still in their wolf form. They were beautiful creatures.

"That they are." Someone said beside me.

I turned to look to see who it was and it was of course the moon goddess herself.

"Oh now you show up." I said kinda sarcastically.
"Sorry. I don't show myself a lot. I have a reason to, not show myself. But with you you're different." Selene said.
"What makes me so different from everyone else. Especially your children; the werewolves." I asked.
"I show myself to them sometimes. But only when the time is right and the reason. But I haven't showed myself to human at all til now. Actually I haven't showed myself to anyone in a long time to be honest with you. I feel like it throws stuff out of balance or out of order. I was once alive, did you know that?" She asked me.
I shook my head no. "No, I didn't know that. I didn't even know you were a thing until you came to me about Adrian and Kenny."
"Well you see, about a few hundred thousand years ago, I was born into this crazy messed up world. Back then there wasn't any of these creatures. Well other than vampires. And a few lycans. I didn't make those, I wish I had though. But I became one of their mothers later one.
"I was 18 years old, a human with healing powers thanks to a god. I was out in the woods one day walking along from town to town when I came across a vampire hunting down a human. I yelled at it but it only pissed it off where it came at me. But to my surprise and my expense, a huge like dog came out of nowhere and attacked it and killed it in the spot. At first I was scared because I thought it was gonna hurt me as well until it had changed into a very handsome man. He was a lycan, an alpha at that. He was 1 out of 6 left in the world. That night changed my whole life forever." She said then looked over at me. "Back then they didn't care about age like they do now. But something happened once our eyes connected. Something pulled me towards him like a magnet of some sorts. He told me that was the mate bond. Like love at first sight.
"He brought me home with him and showed me and his pack. There were 3 other men on top of him and 2 females. He told me that it was just him and his men until his men had found their mates and turned them to be like them and live for a very long time. I told him what I was a child from a god. I told him my healing powers were limited to a point. I had others but didn't like using them."
"What are they?" I had asked her.
"I can either take a life or bring back a life. But only if I can. Now it's only for my children. But I don't like taking a life. It's wrong. And I had to do it once."
"What you mean?"
"A few years being with my mate, we were happy, I bared him children that became either human or Lycan. He tried to changed the human children into his kind but they became something different. They became werewolves. A smaller version of the lycans. A little weaker but still strong and powerful enough to take out anything. One night I was out with one of our sons when we got attacked, by a pack of vampires. I gotten hurt badly trying to protect myself and our son. He was only a child then he didn't have his wolf yet or so I thought. The anger that was inside of him came out when he saw I was hurt. He shifted and howled like no other and attacked the vampires. He killed two of them and the rest ran off. But his howl was so powerful the earth had shook and it echoed through the woods where his father, my mate had heard it and came running with the others. When he saw how badly I was hurt, he lost it. I knew I was dying and I couldn't heal myself anymore for how bad I was.
"He brought me home with our children and sat with me until the end. He prayed to the gods for help but help wasn't coming. So he had asked for the gods to take his life along with mine and spare of children. Give them the strength to do what they needed to do and move on with their lives without us. I told my mate not to do that but he said; "I've lived a hundred years too long until I met you. I don't want to live another hundred years without you, Selene. Take my life along with you and we can watch our children from the heavens." I cried more than I was. I looked up to the sky and told the god that made me to give me the power to do so. A flash of lightning struck me where I was and I touched my mates chest and took his life along with me. Telling our children, to stay safe and move forward without us and don't fear nothing. And that I would be watching over them." She told me.

I started to tear up some from how sad that felt. I wouldn't know what to do if I was in her shoes. What if Adrian was in that predicament would he? I asked myself.

"I know what you're thinking. Our mates would do anything for us. Even if we want it too or not. But once I had died, I had changed the fates where if the mate of a werewolf dies and it's too much for them, they die as well. But that's if they want it. If they try to move on it won't happen. But if they pray to me to take their life because they lost their mate, I will to a point."
"What you mean?" I asked her.
"What she means is, if they can't take the pain, the burden, the suffering, and the grief of losing their mate ones that they loved, we have a short lifeline to make sure we pass on what we need to pass on to the next generation in line." It was Adrian that had spoke.

I turned around to look at him then turned back to Selene.

"Why would you do that?" I asked.
"It wasn't my choice it's the gods." She said looking up at the sky. "It's my punishment, for loving a lycan and dying for them. But I would do it all over again for them. So I became their moon goddess and protect them as my own from here on out no matter what. It's what I get for loving a beast." She had said then looked back at me. "Love them and protect them as long as you shall. Don't fight the bond. Because the bond will always win. Stay safe my child of the craft." Selene said then disappeared.

I gasped when she left the way she did in front of me. I was shocked from the story she had told me. But it was sweet how she took control of it all.

I looked over at Adrian. "How did you know I was out here?"
"One of the guards saw you were sitting on the roof. When I came into the room, I heard you were talking to someone but didn't know who it was at first until I saw her. Then I knew it was Selene. You're very lucky to see and talk to her. We don't get to like we should. She just guides us in a way and send us our mates." Adrian said.
"It's sad how she died."
"Yes, it is. We learned her story from school. It's in the history books as well that's in the library here in the alpha house. The elders make sure that the schools tell the young ones about where they're made/from."
"Would you do what her mate did?" I asked him.
"Have the gods take his life along with hers. I don't know. Maybe to a point but I don't really know for sure."
"What if we had kids?" I asked.
"Kids?" He asked. I nodded. "If one of them is old enough and has the wolf gene to take over my place then maybe. When you lose your mate, it's hard on us. I've watched my father struggle a lot with it. But he lived for me because I wasn't old enough to take his spot as alpha when my mother had died." He told me.
"I get it."
"Would you if I had died?" He asked me.
"I don't know. I'm not a werewolf. But if we had children I'd try and live for them and help them along the way. Make them see the way of life and whatnot." I told him.

He nodded his head at me and smiled. I don't know what I do if I lost him. But for now, we are in the living and that's in the future. We're not even mated or together. We're just friends and we're already talking about all of this. I feel bad not giving him an answer about it but it's a difficult decision to think about. I don't want to die because who I was with had died. It's part of life but I know it's different for them. Maybe if I was one of them then maybe I know what I would want then.
