Chapter 38

As we were enjoying our lunch date, I went to lean in and try to kiss her but as I started to lean in, sirens were being heard. When I heard them, I jumped up, grabbing her at the same time and ran towards the house.
As I was running, I was being mindlinked telling me rogues were attacking the east end of the pack lands.

"What's going on?" She asked me.
"We're being attacked by rogues. I need you go inside and get somewhere safe. I'll come back for you when it's safe." I told her as Lilly and Ryan came running out of the house.

Lilly grabbed ahold of Cris and went to push her inside the house.

"No, let me help." Cris said.
"No!" Both Lilly and I said at the same time. "You're still weak from being drugged. And you wouldn't know which wolves to hit. So please go to your room and lock the door. Lilly protect her with your life inside the house."

Lilly nodded her head at me as both Ryan and I shifted and took off towards the fight.

Cris's pov

Once Adrian and Ryan shifted into their wolf form and ran east, I was scared. Not for me but for them. I wanted to help them. But Adrian was right about one thing. I was still a little weak, I haven't fully recovered from what had happened.
Lilly snapped her fingers my way to get my attention. When I looked at her, she grabbed my hand as she shut the back door and ran upstairs to my room. She pushed me inside my room and shut the door. I locked the door just in case. I ran towards the closet and go into it and tried to hide myself.
As I heard howls from the wolves I was getting scared. Was wondering who was getting hurt, who was dying, who was alive. As I was thinking that, I heard Lilly scream as I heard a growl.

"Lilly!" I yelled her name.

A few moments later a heard a cat like growl then a yelp sound coming from downstairs. I wanted to go check it out but I was still a little scared. Then I heard that growl again then some more yelps then some glass breaking.
I know I was told to stay in my room but I had to go check on Lilly to see if she was safe.
I came out of the closet and slowly walked to the door to unlock it. I slowly opened the door and stuck my head out and saw some blood on the floor and a dead wolf body. I slowly came out and saw blood going towards the stairs. I was afraid it was Lilly's blood. My best friend was either hurt or dead. So I slowly walked down the steps to look for Lilly.

"Lilly?" I called out her name. "Lilly?" I called out again.

I didn't see her or hear her until I heard a growl behind me. When I turned I saw a brown reddish wolf baring its teeth at me. I wanted to scream but my throat was dry. I was about to go into a panic attack because I was so scared. Then that's when I heard that cat like growl. When I turned my head to the right of me, I saw what looked like was a cheetah.
The cheetah jumped over the couch and landed on top of the wolf, wrestling it around the house. I ran to the steps again and stood there watching them fight. I heard the cheetah hissed from being bitten from the wolf. She tried to get up but couldn't. The wolf looked at me and was about to come at me when I waved my hand at it and fire came out of my hand. I caught the wolf on fire and it howled from being in pain. I took my other hand and reached out towards the wolf and twisted my hands the opposite of each other like I was twisted something. That's when I heard the wolf yelp and fell over dead. And the flames of the fire died out with him.
I stood there froze from being in shock. I didn't know what to do.
The cheetah slowly got up and walked over to me and laid down in front of me. I wanted to go to it but I was still in shocked at what just happened.
A few moments later, I had saw Adrian, Ryan and a few others come running in through the kitchen. They stopped when they saw the cheetah. Adrian went to come closer but I had stopped him.

"Don't come any closer the cheetah might hurt you." When I had said that the cheetah made a sound making me look at it. It tried to get up and come to me but fell over and shifted. When it shifted it was Lilly. "Lilly!" I yelled out.

We all ran to her. I started crying when I got to her.

"Oh god Lilly no don't leave me please." I cried.
"Get the pack dr quick." Adrian had told someone.
"Did you know Lilly was a cheetah?" Adrian asked me. I shook my head no. "Did you Ryan?"
"No, I didn't. She never told me."

A few moments later the pack dr came running in. And he wasn't the only one that had ran in. Two more cheetahs ran in from the front door. Once they saw us they shifted into their human forms. It was Lilly's parents.

"Oh Lilly. Please tell us she's fine. Cris what happened?" Lilly's mom asked.
"We got attacked by rogues." Ryan had told her.
"Oh did you know Lilly was hurt." Cris asked us as she came to us.
"We're bonded together. We can feel each other when we're hurt." Lilly's father said. "It's part of our tribe.
"She.. She saved me. Oh god I was so scared. When the wolf got her I wanted to run and scream but when he started coming my way I just held out my hands and caught him on fire and twisted my hands and broke his neck then the fire was out."
"Did you say any words while doing that?" Lilly's mom asked me.
"No, I thought brought my hands out and thought what I wanted to do." I said crying.
"Lilly's gonna be fine. She's just wore out from losing a lot of blood. She's a fighter." The dr said. "Boys help me with her to the hospital wing. So I can treat her wounds." The dr told the guards.
"We're coming along." Both Lilly's parents said. 

The dr nodded his head as the guards picked up Lilly and carried her out through the kitchen to the hospital wing. Lilly's parents rubbed my shoulders then walked out with the others.
I just stood there, staring at the mess that was in the living room. It was like a tornado had came through. It was crazy.
After a while, of standing there, my legs gave out on me making me fall to the ground but Adrian had caught me in his arms.

"Woah there you okay." He had asked me.
"Oh Adrian. I was so scared." I said as I placed my face into his chest.
"It's okay. I'm right here. We're all fine. We didn't lose anyone on our end. We killed most of them. We caught a few rouges and some ran off. But those that we caught the guards took them to the dungeon. My father will talk to them later when he gets back from his trip. Why don't I take you back to your room."

I nodded my head at him. He helped me up and helped me up the stairs. When I saw the wolf that was in front of my door, I stopped moving and turned my head back into Adrian's chest again.
I don't know long I was like that but I know I felt my legs give out again and I was being carried. I thought we were going into my room but I saw us going past my room. I saw we entered into another room.

"Stay in my room for now until that mess is cleaned up." Adrian said as he sat me on his bed. "I'll be back in a little while. Try to get some sleep if you can for now." He told me.

He kissed the top of my head then head out of the room. He closed the door and I heard him walk down the hall.
This whole entire pack had kept me safe from harm. Even my best friend. But she gotten hurt while trying to keep me safe.
I laid back on the bed and curled up into a ball and rocked myself to sleep. I just wanted to get rid of what I had saw. And especially what I had did. Just glad my mother wasn't here when this had happened.
