~Adrian's pov~

Once Cris had left the living room, I don't know what it was, but something in me just saw red. I picked up the coffee table I was sitting on to talk to her and tossed it out of my way, breaking it as it hit the wall. Ryan and Lilly came running in from the other room. Lilly was looking around for Cris when I pointed upstairs. Lilly ran upstairs to go check on Cris. Ryan came over to me and patted me on my back.

"Dude, what is going on with you?" Ryan asked me.
"I don't know. Adam is going crazy in my head, he put hands on our mate all because she don't know if she wants to be Luna." I told him.
"Dude, she's new to all of this. Give her some time to adjust. She just lost her house, found out we're wolves, and finding out you're her mate all in one day." Ryan said.
"He's right son." My father said as him and Cris's mother came walking in. "Just give her some time."
"But how much time should I give her?" I asked.
"As much as she needs." Carrie told me lay a hand on my shoulder. "She's a tough girl that holds in a life. Lilly can get her to come out of her shell but just be patient with her okay. I know she likes you, a lot. Or she wouldn't have gone to the dance with you."

I nodded my head at her then looked over at my father and grinned a little to tell him in a way that Carrie is a nice person. My father nodded at me then put his hands on Carrie's shoulders, making her relax by his touch.

"Ima go for a run." I had said. Then looked over at Ryan. "You wanna join me?"
"Sure." He had said.

As we walked through the kitchen, I headed towards the back door and opened. As I walked outside, I looked up and saw that the sun was going down and that it was a perfect moment to take in. But who I wanted to take it in with me was not standing next to me. She was upstairs in her room. I sighed for a second before shifting into my wolf and ran for the hills; in matter of speaking.
Ryan was quiet while we ran, which was a good thing for the most part but until I had stopped and sat down and looked out towards the sunset.

"Bro, you good?" Ryan asked me.
"Not really."
"Is it Cris?"
"Yes and no. It's gonna take some time to get use to her. Maybe it's me. I mean she's already being a good Luna. Hell she's got one of my best warriors on her side. But what will the pack think about her though."
"Fuck them. All you know is she the right one for you?" Ryan asked me.
I looked over at him. "As in my mate or my Luna?"
"Both dude. Your pussy whipped over this girl. Like I've never seen you like this over any she wolf or bitch and I say that for a few people. Cris, can take care of her own if she has too. Hell didn't you hear what she said that the moon goddess set yall up for a season. You're supposed to become stronger than ever with her by your side. That's what we need for this pack. To become unstoppable against others. There's a war coming and the way your mate says; it's not pretty."
"Yeah, it's not going to be. And if her mom is right, she's from a strong clan of witches, the last of her kind."
"Until yall have pups. Goddess, wolf-witches. The unstoppable hybrids." Ryan said.
"Dang, we not even fully mated yet and you already wishing up our pups." I said with a chuckle.
"Well sorry. Just imagine that with me and Lilly. She's a guardian for Christ sakes. A bad ass woman. I don't even have to worry about out her getting hurt. She can take on her." Ryan had said.

I smirked at what he was saying. Their kids being my kid's guardians. My pack would be unstoppable, untouchable. We be monsters. Powerful pack that everyone would be talking about.

~Cris's p.o.v.~

Lilly and I were chatting up about what had happened. A lot had changed since I known what I am and whom I'm with. Us being girls, we were talking about the guys.

"So, what you gonna do?" Lilly asked me.
"I don't know. To be honest, I think I'm just gonna do what I have to do but between you and me, until I'm completely satisfied and comfortable with all of this, I'm just gonna do me until I know the time is right."
"So what you're saying is, in front of people you're gonna play the part with him but behind doors just be by yourself?"
"Yeah, in a way. I just have to talk to him about it all. I don't want to rush everything. Look where it got me with Kenny. I lost my best friend." I told her.
"Well he is a vampire." Lilly said looking away.

I slapped her leg as I got up and walked over to the window and looked out. As I was watching those whom were outside, thinking about the responsibility I have now. Could I do this.

"I don't know if I have what it takes Lilly. I can barely take care of myself and my mom let alone a pack full of people."
"Which are werewolves."
"Don't rub it in." I told her.
"Cris you have to take in the facts. You're not normal. No one is really. In a freak. I'm a guardian, a strong woman that can take anything. I mean I have my weaknesses."
"Which are?" I asked her as I turned around.
"One is you."
"What do you mean?" I asked her.
"Come back to the bed." Lilly said as she patted the bed.

I took a deep breath and done what she asked. I walked over to the bed and sat down next to her.

"What I mean is, hmmm." She said as she placed a finger on her chin. "Remember when you got hurt in 3rd grade when that boy had pushed you off the slide?"
"Yes, I got hurt and you flipped shit."
"Yes, I pushed that boy after he did that and ran to you and held you in my arms when you were crying."
"Yeah, you wouldn't let me go when the teacher came and asked what happened."
"Yes, because I was afraid something was gonna happen. Your... when it comes to you, I'd do anything to make sure you're safe even if I get hurt along the way. So as long as you're up for anything here in this pack, I'm 100% with you." Lilly told me as she patted my hand. "Even if you're the most powerful witch of all time."

She got a giggle out of me when she said that.
I pushed her a little on the shoulder then grabbed her arm to bring her close to me for a hug. I don't know what I do without this woman. She's the bestest friend I could ever ask for.

"Thank you, I needed that."
"You're welcome. Now, do you want to go talk to your hunk of a wolf?" Lilly asked me.
"I do but I know he's mad at me. So Ima let him take a breather from me rest of the day. I'll see him tomorrow morning. I actually want to ask him if he wants me to go to school anymore, well that school or go to his school." I had brought up.
"I thought his school got messed up or something."
"That's right I forgot."
"I mean do you still want to go to school or just want to drop out. I mean you can probably do online classes here, if you're scared to go back since you know what Kenny is."
"No I ain't scared. He actually hasn't bothered me lately and I haven't really seen him a lot either. Forget what I said." I told her.
"Well what if he doesn't want you to go back to school? What are you gonna do about it?"
"I don't know. I really kinda want to keep going." I told her.
"Good. Because I do too." Lilly said laughing.

As we were laughing there was a knock on the door. I got up to get it as we were both still laughing. When I had opened the door, I half expected to see my mate, my mom, or even Lilly's boyfriend. But it was someone else.

"Good afternoon, alpha sent me to bring you lunch. He had said you were a little afraid to come out around us right now." The man had said.
"Oh, thank you. I was actually getting a little hungry." I said as I took the tray and put it on my dresser. "It's not that I'm afraid, everything is still new. And I've never met anyone like yall before. Let alone be mated to one."
"Oh dear, the soon to be alpha is the greatest just like his father, the current alpha." He had told me. "But in time, you will love us. Your mother on the other hand is fascinated over of. The alpha and her were just heading out after their lunch."
"Oh," I said then looked behind me over to Lilly then back over to the guy. "Well thank you for the food, umm what was your name?" I asked.
"You can call me Joe." Joe told me.
"Well thank you Joe. Do you mind if I call you Joey? You look more like a Joey to me."
"Yes, ma'am." He said with a smile.

I smiled back then nodded at him before he walked away from the door. I closed the door and grabbed the tray of food. As I went to sit down on the bed with the tray there was a knock on the door but Lilly got up and got it this time.
When she opened the door, I looked over and it was her boyfriend. He smiled at me when he walked in.

"Hey, umm, Adrian sent me to keep you guys company. He went into town for some business."
"Oh, why did t you go with him? Ain't you like his beta?" I asked.
"Yes, but he took his delta instead. And wanted me to keep an eye on yea." Ryan said.
"Who's the delta anyways?" I asked then took a bit of my sandwich.
"Billy. You'll hardly see him. He's always in the office dealing with the pack finances and stuff like that."

I nodded and went back to my food. Lilly and him sat near the window seal and talked. They left me alone to myself to think of everything.
Once I was done eating, I had put the tray on my nightstand and grabbed my book of shadows. I started going through it until I remembered something.
I haven't talk to my dad since the fire. I needed to talk to him. But didn't really know how since I wasn't in my witch room. But was gonna do it one way or another.
