Wonyoung's voice reverberated in Felix's mind like a broken record, each word cutting through him like a knife. He longed to turn back and catch a final glimpse of the raven, but the pain in his heart was too overwhelming to bear.
He clenched his wrist, still feeling the ghost of the raven's fingers against his cold skin, as he descended what seemed like an endless flight of stairs to the sidewalk below.
With each step away from the building, a suffocating tightness gripped his throat, urging him to unleash a primal scream. His tender heart, always so delicate, now lay shattered within him, a truth he could no longer deny.
The ache was unbearable, and he berated himself for not waiting for Hyunjin to call him back instead of coming to the company to have his heart handed to him like a bunch of broken glass.
He should have waited for Hyunjin in his and Jeongin's apartment. That way the blonde would have kept himself together for a little longer.
"Stupid. You are so fucking stupid, Felix." He scolded himself as he sprinted through the downpour, the raindrops merging with his tears. His thoughts spiraled downward, leaving him adrift in a sea of confusion and despair.
Numbness enveloped his body, a shield against the relentless, overwhelming heartbreak he was experiencing, leaving him in a daze. It felt like his brain had just stopped working, and his heart was beating just to keep him alive until he was in a safe space.
He continued to walk until he arrived at the familiar building, the place he once called home, though it was no longer his. As he attempted to enter, his access code failed. It was then that he fully comprehended his surroundings, and with a bitter laugh, he cast his eyes downward and began to weep uncontrollably.
He doesn't have anything.
He felt so alone.
He had lost the only ray of hope in his life; he had lost him.
He had lost his sugar, and he knew that if he truly cared for himself, even a little, he shouldn't return. If he genuinely loved Hyunjin as much as he believed he did, he should let him go.
He should allow him to live his life as he desired, to pursue his ambition of running the family business.
After all, that was what the raven wanted in the end, right?
