The following morning, Hyunjin stirred awake in the familiar surroundings of his parents' home, jolted from sleep by the insistent, shrill ring of his phone, slicing through the stillness of his childhood room like a knife.

Each jarring sound echoed in his skull, intensifying the dull ache that pulsed through his head, a persistent reminder of the wild night he had spent indulging in alcohol while he cried for his little minx.

Choosing to stay at his parent's house had been a deliberate decision, a refuge from the chaos of his own life. He didn't want to go to their apartment, a place that he had envisioned filled with the laughter and love of his one true love.

It was hard to not be there...

In that space he purchased with Felix in mind, longing for the day when they would build a life together.

He wanted Felix to keep it —a haven that was rightfully his, no matter the distance between them— so he could at least provide something for him... But Hyunjin also wanted Felix to live there so he could have some peace of mind because he loved Felix with all his heart.

The thought of Felix residing in that apartment, irrespective of their circumstances, was both a source of comfort and a lingering heartache for Hyunjin.

He wished nothing more than for his little minx to fill those rooms with warmth and joy, even if he couldn't be by his side.

"Hello?" he mumbled into the receiver, not caring to check who was calling.

"Hyunjin... Where are you?" came the irate voice of Wonyoung, slicing through his groggy haze. "I spent my wedding night alone! What is wrong with you? You left me standing at the altar. It was so embarrassing!"

A groan escaped Hyunjin's lips as a wave of frustration washed over him.

He didn't feel like engaging in a conversation rife with accusations and melodrama. Instead, he carelessly pulled the phone away from his ear and decisively ended the call, his finger gliding over the screen to block her number without a second thought.

"Bitch!"

As he settled back into uncomfortable silence, his eyes caught sight of the notifications flashing on his phone.

He began to swipe through the barrage of unimportant updates, his heart pounding with each letter and number he skimmed over in search of something from Felix.

But there was nothing from the blonde's phone.
