To Catch A Cardinal

Chapter 4

*Toast's Pov*

I walked behind Jimmy as he held his knife and looked around. "Hey Toaster! Where do you think Cardinal is?" Asked Jimmy.

"Why would you ask me? I have no idea." I said. He is super creepy.

"Well we have searched the whole place. Where is he?"

"Actually, we haven't searched everywhere. Otherwise we would have found him."

"Yeah..." His voice trailed off and he sprinted down the hall to the right and stopped. "I heard something right here." He whispered to me.

He then leaned to rest against the wall but fell right through it. He let out a small yelp.

"Sir!" I cried out but covered my mouth soon after. Jimmy came back through.

"You have to see this." He said and walked back through with me following him close behind. We walked through a small tunnel with many openings. The walls where dark red, just like the rest of the fortress.

"We should not be in here." I said and tried to walk back through but the entry had sealed shut. "Oh no." I said.

Jimmy piped up, "This looks like some kind of maze. Maybe if we find oir way out we can find Johnny or Cardinal!" He said.

"Well thay seems to be our only choice at this point." I said and we started to walk through the maze.

*Time Skip for a bit*

It had felt like hours and with all the twists and turns my sences had been messed up. "Jimmy, this is not the way to go." I said as we turned left and then took two rights."

"Well now we don't really have a choice but to wander around in here now do we?" He said. I walked to the left and saw a room with a floating peice above it.

"Hey, whats this?" I said as I went up to it. It was a triangle and glowed yellowish gold.

"Maybe we need to put together a puzzle to escape?" Said Jimmy.

"Maybe, we should take this with us, just to be sure." I said and grabbed the floating peice and put it in my pocket with my orb.

Suddenly 4 corridors opened and the one we came through closed. A hologram appeared where the floating peice was. It read; Choose the path that glows the color of your peice and complete the quest for power... The path that went straight, its floor glowed yellow. The tiles lit up white when I stepped on it as we went through.

"Well, at least at the end we will have a power, right Toaster?" Said Jimmy as we continued on the yellow tile path.
