To Catch A Cardinal

Chapter 22

*Nycole's Pov*

I woke up laying in my bed. I sat up and a pain rocketed up my back and to my head. I collasped on my pillow. I put my hand under it and felt something, it was a book. This is new.

I pulled it out. The book was dusty, the pages where woren and on the front it had 3 rings interlocking with chains on them. I opened the book, the pages where blank but in the back there where instructions for how to use it. I turned back to the cover and found the title. It was written in these weird symbols but I could read it clearly. This book was mine and it was from the 19th demention, my home.

I flipped through the pages and on the 2nd page wrote all my friends names down. "There!" I said. Now I could control their actions if I write them down specifically. I wrote another name down, this person would show up in a time of need for Ghost if he where to get into trouble and shadow him to keep him safe. With her helping me I can relax as she is a good person and good old friend of mine.

I placed the book next to me, I need to get up and check on them. I thought. But why hurry, just another 5 minutes won't hurt. And I fell asleep once again.

The next morning I felt better. Most of my energy had returned and I picked myself out of bed and made my way down stairs. Toast sat on the couch with Kat sipping tea. Elza and Danica where no where to be seen.

"Hey Toast, how are you?" I asked. He didn't here me. "Hey Toast?" I said and waved my hand infront of his face. He didn't do anything in response, just continued to watch tv. "Toast!" I screamed at him and slapped him but my hand went right through him. He got up and looked at Kat.

He spoke up, "Hey, do you know if Nycole's awake yet?"

"Nope, I can go check if you want though."

"Sure." She got up from the couch and went upstairs. A minute later she came back down.

"Toast, get Ghost, she's gone."

I screamed out, "I'M RIGHT HERE GUYS!!!" But they didn't here me. I walked over and body slamed into Kat but went right through her and through the wall. I got up from the ground and walked back over to her. She reached for the phone but I got to it first. My hand grabbed it and lifted it up and my hand didn't go through it. She back up in supprise.

I put it down and picked up some paper and started writing. I showed it to her. She read it out loud. "Calm down, it's me Nycole, I don't know what happened but don't freak out and don't let Ghost know." She shouted back to Toast who was about to go out and get Johnny. "STOP TOAST." He turned around and she took the paper from me and showed him.

He looked around, "I don't see her madam."

"Well your not supposed to! She's invisible! Duh!"

"Oh okay, can she turn back?" I took the paper and wrote no and showed them. "I see."

"So now what?"

"We wait I guess, only she can really fix it." Said Toast.

She nodded. "I hope you can figure this out soon, we won't tell Ghost, we'll tell him some small lies until you can return to normal." As soon as she finshed speaking Ghost walked in the front door. I put the peice of paper down quickly. I walked over to him and out my hand through him. Still the same.

I thought that it might be cool to see what he saw, so I tried to enter his body. I stood directly inside him and it worked. I took control.

I blinked my eyes and flexed my fingers. I looked around, Kat and Toast where looking at me weirdly. I spoke up, "Guys! I got into Ghost's body! I'm controling him!" I said. Kat clapped and Toast nodded. Crystal came sliding down the stairwell railing and jumped over to us.

"Hey guys!" She said happily.

"Sup?" Said Kat and Toast just nodded.

"Nothing much, I over heard your conversation and decided to come in on the action."

I waved, "So you know whats going on?"

"Yep!"

"Agree to never tell Ghost?" I said and everyone nodded. "Okay I might need to take over someones body every so often though. And tell Ghost he was just working to hard and collasped exausted from something okay?" They nodded and I left Ghost's body.

He stood there akwardly for a moment, blinked and looked at everyone. "Uhh what just happened?"

"You kinda just paused for a bit, you where tellings us where you went?" Said Crystal.

"Oh, okay, I just went for a walk."

"That's it?" She asked.

"Yeah, oh and I meet this person. She was.... intresting."

"How dose one become 'interesting'?"

"Oh...well, she walked up to me and said Hi. So I said hello and she wanted to know who I was, I told her and she nodded and said follow me. I did as she said and she took me to a coffee shop, bought me a drink and ran out. I have no idea why or who she is."

"Huh so thats how you become 'interesting', good going Ghost." Said Crystal.

"Yeah well anyways, I want to go out one more time, see ya guys." We all waved and Ghost left, but I went and followed. I wanted to find out who this person was, and why she did it.
