To Catch A Cardinal

Chapter 37

*Nycoles Pov*

I woke up in Crystals mouth. My first instinct was to scream but I found that I couldn't. My right arm was twisted at a broken angle and screamed out in pain. My torso was between her teeth and my limbs just hung down limply.

Toast and Kat where riding on top of Crystal as she was running though the halls of the...Lab? Yeah the Lab. She had her nose low to the ground and was sniffing away. She finally came to a door and slammed into it with her head at full force. Lucky I didn't get hurt some how.

As she burst out into the cold night air I realized that it was snowing and that there was already a foot or so on the ground. Crystal didn't slow down and kept going. Right to the Royals mansion. She jumped over the gate and landed with soft paws. She galloped though the huge garden and barely stopped in time before hitting the massive doors. She scraped at it with a paw.

Soon enough, four guards came and opened the door. But before they pull gasp at the huge 10 foot tall wolf in front if them she vaulted over them and ran though out the castle. The alarms blared but she kept going right to the throne room where all the siblings had gathered with some guards and weapons of choice.

She skidded to a halt and stood up straight. Now she looked even bigger. Jordan had a sword, Isaac a rocket launcher, Cerria two pistols and Bethany a crowbar. Isaac was the first to notice me in her jaws.

"Hey look what's in it mouth." He whispered to the others and they all looked up at me. They all lowered their weapons.

"Put your weapons up." Commanded Jordan to the guards and they did so but with shaking hands. Toast and Kat appeared on her back and Crystal lowered herself so they could climb off. Then she put me down and changed into human form again.

"Sorry for the trouble, it was the only way to get here fast." She said. The four siblings gathered around us and Toast helped me stand up once he realized I was awake.

"It's Okay. But what happened to you guys?!" Asked Cerria.

"It's a long story." I said but pain was making me weaker by the minute. Despite Toasts efforts to keep me standing, I collapsed to the ground. Pain was racking my body and my vision was starting to fade.

"GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!" Shouted Jordan at the guards and they rushed off. They all where standing over me now. Bethany was trying everything in her medical power to keep me awake.

Crystal was standing off to the side. Her hair half covered her face but something was up. She didn't look worried but a smile was on her face. A devils smile. She wasn't the Crystal I knew. Something was up. She put her hand to her right eye and removed it. Her eyes where blood shot red and a crazy smile was on her face. As she caught my gaze she snickered silently.

My vision was going and my voice didn't work. I lay on the floor hopeless as my body gave off waves of light that was fading. Kat rushed up to me and placed her hand on my head and my vision went black.
