To Catch A Cardinal

Chapter 2

*Toast's Pov*

I rushed over to Nycole who had colasped on the ground. She felt normal, maybe she used up to much magic. Moments later she woke up. I leaned over her and helped her stand up. She used her staff for support.

"Is everything okay?" I asked her.

"I'm fine. Now we need to find out where Ghost went."

"Right." Jimmy shifted in his place, he looked nervous.

"You ok Jimmy?" Asked Nycole.

"No, I habe never had a body of my own and it feels empty in my head, it's creeping me out." He replied.

"It's okay. We will get Ghost back soon, but we better hurry and find him before Cardinal dose."

"Ok" said Jimmy. We started to walk off in hopes of finding Ghost.

*Ghost's Pov*

I woke up laying on the ground. The heat felt really hot, coming off of everywhere. The walls where a dark red and there was no light anywhere.

Better stay silent if Cardinal is around here. I thought. I worked my way around feeling the right wall and using it as a guide. It was burning hot, so I had to take my hand away often. The darkness went on for what felt like forever.

Suddenly my foot slipped and I fell into a chasam maybe? I felt the air rush by me and then my back felt the ground with a hard thump. I hit my arm on a sharp rock and pain shot through my body. My arm couldn't move and I felt blood seeping though my hoodie.

I grasped my arm and it felt even worse. It was definitely broken. I couldn't see anything so I couldn't faint from the sight of it anyways.

I heaved myself to my feet. I took off my hoodie and wrapped up my arm to stop the bleeding.

I felt around for the wall taking small steps and making sure there was soild ground. The pain was becoming even worse. My hand felt smooth hot rock and I sank to the floor against the wall.

A small light came from an opening in the tunnel. I crawled over to it and saw lava everywhere. Beneath me was a huge, red, stone fortress. It spread across the mountian and lava lake. There was no way down from where I was.

How do I get down there? Is this Cardinals fortress? If so then I need to leave here. But how? Is there a way to contact Nycole? What about my heat orb? I can try.

I pulled out the orb and focused. Soon there was a picture of Nycole, Jimmy and Toast, all walking somewhere. Nycole stopped and took out her orb. It showed a dot and and arrow.

"We need to go more to our left. Soon we should find him." She put away her orb and continued walking.

They're....coming for me! My thoughts slowly grew stiff and still untill I went unconscious, sitting there on the floor, in the middle of nowhere.
